Not surprisingly the Bison women were picked for 1st in the official PL preseason poll, getting 15 out of a possible 18 1st place votes. Boston U, who should be very good this year, got the others. As expected, LC's Natalie Kucowski is preseason POY. The voting:

Boston U, btw, has an absurdly easy schedule - which should make them very dangerous. Of their 16 PL games, 14 are against projected 2nd division Colgate, Army, and Holy Cross.

Since they have an easy schedule, but they play only those PL teams projected for the lower tier, all that does it make it likely they will have a good record and a high PL tournament seed. It also makes it likely that they will have limited experience in close games, making complacency a possibility).
Seems to we that a team that does reasonably well against a tougher schedule would have a better chance, even with a lower tournament seed than a team with an easy schedule.

That could be. But I am sure that the Bison players and coaches don't want to make a bus trip to Boston for the PL Finals. It would be a shame to have a better team but a worse record.

I hate this PL schedule. How can you have a representative regular season when you only play 4 of the other 9 teams? And they play one of the worst teams, HC, six times. The answer to that is for the Bison to win all 16.

Not to mention that we must play Navy with their preseason (OOC) being used to establish their game without the same competitive practice. If any team can do it, the Bison women can!

I'm not sure how much the OOC games help Navy. They haven't played since Dec 18 and are 0-4 but with three of those losses by single digits. It may help us that the first game is at home even without fans in the stands.
