This challenge is today. Every sport needs support, especially with an administration that is not supportive of athletics. Please consider donating to whichever sports you support.

Why bother? If the administration doesn’t care, why throw your money away?

Because the student athletes who are playing the games do care. And they put in a lot of work. Also the coaches care, and most of the Bison coaches do a very good job despite an i level playing field.
By the way, in 24 hours this campaign raised over $1 million, an all time record.

Wow! That kind of money might force the administration’s hand.

That's the other reason I donate to the athletic department. It sends the message that athletics is important to the alumni and friends of the university. Let's hope the university gets the message that athletics needs to be more of a priority.

You probably remember that not too long ago the Day of Giving was about donating to all campus activities - athletics, arts, clubs, etc. But over 95% of the donations ended up going to athletics, showing the priorities of the more engaged alumni. The administration's reaction was to turn the day into athletics-only, presumably to downplay the support that athletics had among the campus community.
Athletics in a month gives Bucknell more regional and national publicity than music, dance, and other cultural activities do in a decade. Right or wrong, that's the way it is.

Final tally for the 24 hours: $1,029,834 was raised from 2,862 donors. Both are records.
Last year 2,687 Bison supporters contributed $925,858 - which almost doubled the previous record.
