Towson is a top 50 team in most ranking websites with one website having them as #23. They beat University of Florida, a good power team, by 17 points. They have a combination of really good transfer players along with recruits. Really good PG which has created issues for the Tigers.
Tigers are also a top 50 team so this game should be very competitive. Fortunately, they are home but will be a pretty empty Jadwin gym. Currently, Tiger's non-conference schedule is #20 ranked as to the degree of difficulty in the country -- simply bizarre.
Would not be surprised if the Tigers play well as they seem to rise to the occasion of talented non-conference teams. Carla needs to figure out how to improve the offense other than Abbey Meyers doing it by herself. Fortunately, the defense will probably be very good.
They need another potential Quadrant 1 win to improve their slim chance of getting an at-large bid if IvyMadness does not go well.

In an interview with Carla, she talked a little bit about the challenge of facing a strong offensive team, like Towson. Towson, 11-1, has scored 80 or more pts in 6 of their 12 games including a 36 pt win, 91-55, the other night against William & Mary.
Price asked her if she would rather play a powerful offensive team or a grind it out team. Although diplomatic, she seemed to prefer the challenge of facing a team like Towson or FGU as she hopes that excellent defense can frustrate a high octane offense.
Will find out tomorrow night. Will be a big challenge.

Oops, assumed this was a 7pm start and missed most of the first 3 quarters. Looks like solid defense so far forcing 15 turnovers and holding Towson to 32% shooting.
Unfortunately only shooting 32% ourselves (and 5/10 from the FT line) making it a 1 point game late in the 3rd quarter

Struggling offense once again although Towson does play very good defense.
Defense is solid. May go down to the wire.
Tough game so far.

Stone and Mitchell both foul out of the game with 3 minutes left, but Kaitlyn Chen has been really good down the stretch. 60-51 Tigers lead with 1:11 to play
Maybe evidence of how tight the COVID restrictions on Jadwin are, it looks like Max Johns and Tosan Evbuomwan have been pressed into towel/mop duty and are sitting under each basket on the baseline lol

Free throws at the end extended the lead quite a bit, ends as a 68-54 Princeton win!

Very important win and it will help them as to rankings. Probably need to win at least 12, probably 13 wins in the IL to get an at-large bid, if needed.
Carla was correct that frustrating a high powered offense can give a competitive advantage which they did tonight.

Very encouraging signs regarding the future for this team based on tonight's play. Chen and Mitchell were sensational in the 4th quarter and everyone pitched in during this game including 6'5" Parker Hill. Hill's height and athletic abilities add another dimension to this team and it may well be needed if they get to the Big Dance.
Tigers had quite a few open shots during the game and Towson had few. It could have been a 20 pt win if the Tigers even made a few chippies that they missed.
Chen is a talent and is unfortunate that Tigers lost a year of her eligibility last year coupled with losing a year of Littlefield.
Tigers moved up to #18 rpi ranking -- Warren Nolan partially due #13 SOS. Unfortunately, 4 of their next 5 IL games are going to really hurt them on the rpi front. Penn should be a challenge at the Palestra despite their current ranking.

41 in NET, a bit worse than I was hoping for given the schedule.
1-3 vs Quad 1, 3-0 vs Quad 2, 6-1 against others, with road games at Columbia, Yale, Harvard currently Quad 2 opportunities.
Given that an at-large bid requires a loss in the conference tournament, I think it takes at least 13-1 regular-season to get it, and even that might not be guaranteed. 14-0 definitely does it.

Stop worrying about the damn bid. The women will sweep BOTH the real title AND the idiotic tournament. Right Carla?
