The bison take on a very mediocre Lafayette squad tomorrow afternoon at Kirby. LC is a 6-point favorite.

Rhodes looks hungry for PT! Davis should probably be thinking maybe we should give him some minutes. Rhodes needs work at the line!!!

I’m not sure what I expected but at least it was close. Neither is a good team, so I guess I’m a little disappointed they couldn’t beat a below-average team. Funk continues to score raven though he doesn’t shoot a good %. Can’t have Rice shooting 1-10.

At least Rice made his FTs. Without him, the Bison were 5-16 or 31%.......Rhodes and Screen were 25%.

Timmerman appear to have a shoulder problem...hope it is not serious. These last games will be tough with only 3 bigs; we'll need a lot of creative defensive alignments to get into the win column....

The team keeps giving away winnable games. A few more makes at the foul line and this game was a win! I listens to the post game interview with Harrison. A lot of repeating on what needs to be done better from his perspective. A fans perspective is that they need to improve in every area! It appears Funk is really trying to hard or he is simply exhausted as he does not get off the floor much.

Funk may well be both exhausted and trying too hard, but he and Screen are the only two players on the team who can create their own offense. Recruiting has not been very productive the last three years, to say the least.

And now to make it worse, it appears the Timmerman has a serious shoulder injury that could keep him out for an extended period of time. He was unable to lift his right arm at all yesterday. Many observers, including me were critical that ND and staff were unwilling or unable to bring in a center or power forward with this years four-man recruiting class. Now that is going to be a huge issue, as the only back-up center now will be Malachi Rhodes, who is not a center. And the domino effect will be that Rhodes won’t be able to play as much PF due to the need to monitor his fouls since Screen is also foul-prone. Other than all of the missed free throws, Rhodes played really well yesterday and often is an upgrade at power forward compared to VDH. Screen also had a good game.

Turner and Spear can both create their own shot. They’re gone. So playmakers we’re recruited, they bolted.

Husky, I was thinking the same thing about Turner. Also, Ellis comes to mind. I never thought of Spears as somebody who can create his own shot, but you might be right.
New season, new team, new dream . . .

I guess I don’t think of Ellis as a “create his own shot” kind of player. Turner a little more. Both could drive on occasion. As for Spear, I wouldn’t have placed him in the create his own shot category…but he’s putting up nice stats at Robert Morris so maybe he is more that player today.

Spear played so hard that create his own shot is probably not the right verbiage but invent his own points may be.

I didn’t include Ellis because I didn’t think he was explosive. But I wish he was still on this 5 win sad sack roster.

Just having those two players would’ve prob meant 3-4 more wins.
