No not in uniform.
Fantastic win today. Students showed up and we were loud. Dingle with an absolute monster performance (33) and some very lucky/clutch triples down the stretch.
Really hope Jelani (wrist) is alright, his hustle kept the team in the game and he was a great leader.
All around solid effort. Not many mistakes other than some bad passes and sloppy ball handling.

I was watching on tv — Jelani appeared to dislocate his finger. He held it up when he went down, and it looked like it was sticking out sideways.
Was kind of surprised he came back in with it taped up. Assume he banged it again (or, if he did hurt his wrist, it was a second injury unrelated to the first).
Gutty performance (as usual) until he came out.

Still think Swain is as good as Dingle? Guy was freaking Superman out there!

Good energy at the Palestra today. Lots of oohs and aahs at Dingle’s maneuvering on the dribble.
Dingle aside, so striking how many skill or size or combo of the two advantages Harvard had that they simply failed to exploit as frequently as you’d think they could. This Penn team plays hard on D, but it still looked like the Crimson rotation as a whole was less than the sum of its parts. And that’s even with the freshman Nelson, who missed their non-conference schedule. unexpectedly going off.

Dingle was unbelievable today. I wouldn’t trade him for Swain (or anyone else).

Penn’s rotations have gotten so much better. I don’t know if it is slower opponents in league or experience. Probably a combination of both. I thought Harvard would pick up on the ways Penn doubled the first time, and they seemed to make some adjustments (much of which led to Nelson going off), but we still manage to hedge and get back most of the time. OOC, we always seemed a step behind. Not so much anymore.
I think not having Martz was a problem that burns us on nights when we don’t shoot the way we did today. We could defend the post ok, but we weren’t able to keep them off the o boards, particularly in the second half, and particularly when Mosh was on the bench. Felt like we were one interior defender short at times. But we did enough. Particularly against teams that lack true size (even Forbes is slight), Monroe, Jelani, and Smith can reasonably guard 4 positions. Martz can guard a range of guys too, when he’s healthy (and unlike Jelani and Smith, Martz can guard centers). Haven’t seen enough of Laczkowski for me to evaluate whether he can defend, but I liked that he got totally burned by Kirkwood on one possession and then came back and blocked him on the next. So much of defense is picking yourself back up and staying after it.

8-2 with four games to go, three on the road. Only one traditional Ivy weekend. I figure we split those games.
We need to hold serve at home against the near adversary, and find a way to avoid a trap game in New Hampshire.
I like our chances, if we can stay healthy.

I just watched the replay, not being able to see it live.
That was a nice BBYO affair at the J today between Silverstein and Moshkowitz. Each one definitely came to play.
I loved after one of Dingle's 3s with about 4:15 to play the view from the Penn bench. Spinoso's reaction was priceless (as was his reaction on Dingle's final banked 3 later on).
I like how SD put more ball pressure on Harvard during selected portions of each half after Harvard had gained some momentum. Seemed to slow that momentum.
We were standing around a bit too much in the second half, compared to the excellent ball movement and player cuts in the first half. But JD bailed us out big time on a number of occasions with the shot clock about to expire.
Another great win, especially since we were down a key contributor. Bench showed up and really pitched in.

In the first half, especially, Dingle looked much better at finding open guys when called for than he did earlier in the season. And of course, 8-10 three-point shooting (including a bank while double-teamed and a four-point play) is going to make you look pretty awesome.

Yes, when he broke a defender down, agreed. The whole team did a nice job of finding the open man in the first half in that regard...less so in the second half.

Yeah - when was the last time we had a shooter go 8-10 on threes? That is a Maloney type of night.
