Theodorson last night scored 20 points, many of them in the final minutes, as her Moon Township team came from behind for a 46-43 win over 7-1 South Fayette. South Fayette’s key player is a 6-4 junior center, Ava Leroux, whose father was a long time defenseman for the Penguins. She reportedly had a Bucknell offer, although I am not sure if that offer is still valid.

Moon’s 5A western Pennsylvania section ( Chartiers Valley, Oakland Catholic, West Allegheny, South Fayette, etc) consists of six teams with a combined 38-7 record for the season, so they will be facing tough competition almost every night going forward. Thus far they are 9-0.

Here is some updated information for the senior recruits. I will add some more info when all of the seasons are over and when district and state accolades come in.

- GRACE KLUG: (6-2 PF/C, Westfield NJ; PWO)

Team just won New Jersey’s Class 4 (largest schools) public state championship. Will compete in the tournament of champions on Wednesday vs Sparta. Play competed with a mask on her face due to a fractured orbital bone. Still had 14 points and 12 rebounds in the semi finals, and had 22 points and 18 rebounds in the district semifinal.

For the year, her team went 28-5 vs a generally good schedule. She averaged 12.5 PPG, 11 RPG, and 1.6 BPG. And a reminder: she had missed two for High School seasons due to injury.

- BLAKE MATTHEWS: (5-5 PG, Humble TX – north of Houston)

Missed final five weeks of the season with a torn meniscus. Was allowed one final play on Senior Day to assist on a set-up play to their other injured star: https://twitter.com/humbleisd_ahs/status/ 149049005...

Made 1st team All-District. Averaged 18.6 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 4.4 apg, and 3.4 apg. Hit only 30% on threes and 42% on twos. Might be a similar player to Kyi English.

- GRACE SULLIVAN: ( 6-4 C, Carmel Catholic IL, north of Chicago)

Team won IL 3A state championship. Averaged 14.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists. Made IBCA 3A all-state second team.
MVP of State Final Four, averaging 15.5 ppg and 11 rpg: https://www.prepgirlshoops.com/2022/03/class-3a-al...

- EMMA THEODORRSON: (6-1 SG/SF, Moon PA, north of Pittsburgh)

Had 16 pots and 10 boards as team upset WPIAL champ South Fayette to each 5A state semis. Had 17 points in previous round.

A few more items on Sullivan (#14):

Video of championship game win vs 33-2 Nazareth Academy, who had twice beaten Carmel by double figures. Sullivan had 13 points, 13 rebounds. http://www.hudl.com/v/2H7v6T

Video of State Semi, where Sullivan had 18 pts , 9 boards: http://www.hudl.com/v/2H6EG0

Previous game, where she had 16 and 12: http://www.hudl.com/v/2H4ShU

If you compare these videos to videos of her in her junior year, you will see that she has made a great deal of improvement, which is a good sign for the future.

And some video of Klag (#44) from her North Jersey Semi in States vs a good Bayonne team just before she suffered her facial injury. Had 16 points and 12 rebounds. http://www.hudl.com/v/2H6JMj http://www.hudl.com/v/2H6JMj

Just to get more information in one place, here are the offers received by the four class of 2022 recruits:

- Theodorsson had offers from Boston U, Lehigh, American, Navy, Lafayette, Western Michigan, Miami (Ohio), Cleveland State, North Dakota, North Florida, and Wofford. Committed in mid June 2021, just as her junior academic year was ending. She no doubt would’ve had more offers had she waited.

- Sullivan had offers from Loyola (IL), Boston U, Eastern Illinois, and Evansville. She had apparently upped her game during the summer, as all of her offers came between between mid-July and mid-September. Committed in early October.

- Blake Matthews had offers from East Tennesse State and UT-San Antonio, maybe others. She committed in mid August.

- Grace Klag committed in September, apparently as a preferred walk-on. She has good size and skill, but had missed two consecutive HS seasons due to injury. She did have a good summer season, and then followed it up with a strong HS season vs generally good competition.
