PL women's basketball awards just came out. Ellie Mack is POY. Her stats aren't as good as Lauren Manis, but Manis's HC teams have consistently underachieved. Team performance has always been a factor in how the coaches select the POY.
Trevor Woodruff got a well-deserved COY award, as he took a team that graduated three All-PL players to a runaway 1st place PL finish.
Also Abby Kapp was voted to the 2nd team and Tessa Brugler to the 3rd team. I would have liked to see Taylor O'Brien on the 3rd team or the All-defensive team, but that didn't happen.

Woodruff has passed the first of two big tests as BU Womens coach, winning the league & finishing first! Seems to me that the 2nd test will be: can he maintain the high recruitment standards established by his predecessor ?
We know he can coach, witness his outstanding record at Scranton U.
And Ellie Mack is one of those players you seldom find: outstanding at everything on the court including leadership and drive!

This team has been a pleasure to watch, even from 1800 miles distance. Ellie Mack has been inspiring here down the stretch. Coach Woodruff was my coach of the year, outpacing my hopes for this season. Play on.

Thanks for the info. Nice landing spot indeed.
Oregon State ended up the year ranked 14th in the nation, playing in a league that had five of the top 15 teams.

Congrats to Ellie. I'm anxious to see how she does with an elite program. Hopefully, can match or exceed Sestina's season at Kentucky.
