According to Birdsong in the pregame he’s out with an unspecified illness.

Good first half. Worried about how Screen went down at the end.

Was starting to wonder if Bascoe was trying to set the record for most minutes played without a FG attempt after none in the 1st 3 games and then he passed up two open opportunities early. Glad to see him get off to a 3-3 start for his career.

Have to admit I had to look up who #12 even was, but thought Brock put in some decent minutes given the circumstances.

Good news, Screen was healthy for the 2nd half. Bad news he fouls out with over 5 minutes to go. The 4th foul looked questionable but as usual he put himself in that situation with dumb fouls for #2 and #3 (and #5).

Has Bucknell ever scored 100 or more and lost before tonight? Pathetic defense.
New season, new team, new dream . . .

Up by 5 with 38 seconds left and shooting a one and one and don’t win the game. Brutal.

I wonder if Davis shares this view and is kicking in lockers and chiding players or if he is taking an "aw shucks guys we'll get them next time" stance.

I didn’t see the game because I went to a movie and dinner. The Bison scored 100 points and lost. What?

Love the fact that the games are on ESPN, after the Stadium debacle, but I discovered something tonite. Had to watch on a delay, and did not start watching until after 11pm.As you may know, if you pause the telecast a white line appears at the bottom of the picture and it shows the point in the stream where you are, as well as the total length of the telecast. Typically a regulation college game is about 2 hours. Before the first half was over( remember I am watching after the fact, not live), I noticed that the telecast length of the game was 2 hrs and 28 minutes, and I knew right then the game was going to OT. So late in the 2nd when we started to fall behind, I knew we were going to come back. And conversely when we led by 5 with 38 secs to go, I knew we would not hold it. Where else can you learn stuff like this?

That was a tough one. Elvin blows the 1 and 1 then gets the put back to send it to OT. Good experience for him. He looks like he's going to be a good one. Great night for Funk. Let's hope Screen is OK.

Good offensive night for several Bison. I also feel Elvin will continue to be a solid contributor. Scoring 100 is quite an achievement, but so is losing when you score 100. Obviously, defense is lacking. Turnovers also hurt the cause. What was the Funk turnover in the final seconds before they lost the lead? I didn’t see the game but Screen with 6 turnovers and getting hurt and Xander shooting 1-14 are huge in an OT game.

Rice inbounded to Funk who tried to pass it back to Rice. Ill St read the pass, intercepted and went in for a dunk. That was the play that gave them the lead with a few seconds left. It was the second turnover on an inbounds play in the last 30 seconds. We need some work dealing with a full court press.

I don’t remember that happening. They did lose to Cornell 104 to 98 in Paulsen’s second year. That was the game where Colin Klebon was nearly the hero as he came off the bench to play well against Cornell’s huge seven footer, after Muscala and Behan couldn’t handle him.

Cornell that year went 29-5, and was the 12 seed in the NCAA tournament.

Damn. What a bad turnover, at such an important time….especially by the only senior.

Almost. The previous highest losing score in program history:
George Mason 101
Bucknell 99

Davis Gym, Dec 1, 1993

That was the 2nd game for Paul Westhead’s run and gun coaching tenure at GMU.
