Tigers have dropped to #39 NET ranking and Buffalo is #43. Buffalo is very good as to skill and height/length. Ellie Mitchell, who had 19 rebounds against Seton Hall will have a big time challenge. She is extremely talented and only a sophomore with considerable upside potential on the offensive side of the game.

Stone and Myers had poor games against Seton Hall and Chen is clearly a defensive liability -- would not be surprised to see Connolly get more playing time from Chen.

Next up is #5 Texas followed by #41.

Headed to OT after a poor possession late ending in a shot clock violation, a 1/2 trip to the FT line, and fouling Buffalo on a shot attempt as the buzzer sounded to end regulation.

Cunningham and Meyers have both fouled out, but Chen doing a lot offensively in OT for the Tigers

At times, Tigers did their best to lose the game but with 2 of their top players, Meyers and Mitchell, fouling out in regulation and then Cunningham in OT, they still pull out a victory. Stone and Chen with others pulled it out against a very good Buffalo team.

They are now 2-2 in this incredibly tough stretch with 2 remaining brutal games left but tonight was an important win for Carla's program. If your goal is to be an elite team, you need wins against elite competition.

Would not be the least bit surprised it they have an incredible run in IL competition.

Pretty rare that a team loses an 18 pt lead in the 1st half and be down by 1 pt at half time yet ultimately wins the game. Additionally, blowing it at the end of regulation to go OT without 2 of your 3 best players and then losing your 3rd best player in OT to fouls yet having the composure to win.

The victory should have been much easier but a win is a win against a top 50 team.

Chen is a dynamo driving to the right. Didn't see anything to the left.

So what did the Buffalo coach say that drew a technical 5 seconds into the second half? Nothing had happened.

Yes indeed -- that was really strange as I have witnessed a coach getting a technical foul from a jump ball but Dee Lynam suggested that perhaps a vulgarity was used to get such a quick technical foul. Cunningham made only 1 out of 2 foul shots but it certainly helped the Tigers.

Berube was upset all night regarding the refs. Princeton players, other than Meyers, wore leg protectors as they probably knew that they would be spending a fair amount of time fighting for balls on the floor which occurred throughout the night. Buffalo is a very physical team, similar to the Tigers.

Chen got her 1st start over Connolly last night but both played a lot and well with the foul trouble.

Chen got called for fouls twice for defending a drive by pushing her belly into the driver, while keeping her hands up.

As with Mason Hook's flops, probably a longstanding technique that is not going to work at this level.

I re-watched the end of regulation and the overtime, and my guess is that the technical foul on the Buffalo coach stemmed from the play near the end of the regulation where there was a scramble under the Buffalo basket for a loose ball. Cunningham was closest to the ball, but Chen reached in as her leg was actually out of bounds. The ref who issued the technical was on the end line but ignored Chen's leg. The Buffalo coach ran all the way down to the end line and was yelling at the ref that Chen was out of bounds. I think she was still steamed about it when OT started and she was right next to the ref who missed the call.

I think that you got it and the refs should have replayed as Chen was out of bounds although Cunningham was in bounds. Buffalo should have gotten the ball.

The tech did hurt Buffalo especially in light of the final outcome. I thought that Carla was going to also receive a tech once or twice during a very hard fought and physical game.

At the end of the day, it is somewhat of an excuse to blame the refs as each team had the opportunity to pull away and they did not. Fans, especially to the South and North of us, will understandably blame the refs.

Didn't Princeton call a time out on that scramble? Maybe the time out was acknowledged before Chen touched the ball with her foot out of bounds. Either way, a gutsy win considering the amount of time in the fourth quarter and OT, in a back and forth game, that the Tigers had to play without arguably their three best players. Against a quality opponent no less. I doubt any other team in the league could have pulled that one out.

You might be right but it was indeed a judgment call and not an easy one.

As of this morning, both games (Kean and Texas) are still scheduled to be played next week.

After looking at the bios' of the Texas players, almost every player on their roster was a Top 100, 50, or 25 recruit with a lot of size. If Tigers play competitively, it would be surprising but this team has grit. They may well be the best team, relatively speaking, in the IL -- mens or womens but this game will be a Herculian task.
