Am I wrong in my belief that NIL spelled the end of the era when mid majors by a combination of luck and skilled recruiting could field teams that on a given night could compete with the bigs?

Coming at it another way, would a Mike Muscala, whose recruitment was both skillful and lucky (in the sense that he did in fact grow and become a 6’11 stud instead of a 6’8 stud)would he have completed his four years at Bucknell in an NIL world?

I suppose in most ways it’s good for players, but overall bad for college basketball. I also feel mid-major players that develop better than expected will leave for bigger opportunities, particularly with increased ability to make money.

It stinks for mid-majors that are good at developing raw talent so they could compete when those players are upper classmen, but such is life. It was far more unfair at Power 5 schools where coaches make 7 figures annually and the players on the court or field were fully prohibited from earning money based on their talent.

Maybe if we find a true diamond in the rough that develops in to an NBA level talent like Muscala again, Ken Langone will be inspired pay him $1M to show up at his grandkid's birthday party or something to stay at Bucknell.

I'm just hoping the Gonzaga booster can't put enough attractive enough NIL packages, so I don't ever have to hear about them again.

Are there any indications of any Bison athletes getting NIL money? Are any Lewisburg businesses dabbling in it?

There are about 50 who are part of Barstool Sports. But apparently all they are getting is Barstool merchandise. I think the only requirement is that they list Barstool under their name on their social media accounts. Dave Portnoy put together the idea with no real thought and I don’t think it’s really gone anywhere.

Oh my, in what's believed to be the first deal of its kind, Bucky the Bison has inked a 2-year NIL deal with Service 1st Credit Union:

Will Bucky's "friend" see any of this money?
New season, new team, new dream . . .
