With school starting up again in a few weeks, I figure it's time to start a thread for the 2019-20 season. Carrying over a few pieces of recent news: 1. As reported by Bucknellbisonfan21, the women will open at Virginia on Tuesday November 5th. UVA was a top 100 team last year, although not as good as the ACC elites. 2. First new recruit for the new staff was 6-0 SF Kaylee Reinbeau from West Virginia: http://boards.basketball-u.com/showtopic.php?tid/2... 3. Second new recruit was Nicole Davis, a 6-4 PF/C from the Richmond area: http://boards.basketball-u.com/showtopic.php?tid/2... 4. Julie Kulesza, a wing from Delaware and that state's POY as a soph, is a Roussell commit who appears to be sticking with Bucknell. Thread: http://boards.basketball-u.com/showtopic.php?tid/2...

Bison women will be playing in the Puerto Rico Classic in San Juan over Thanksgiving. They face Cincinnati on November 28th. Possibly Iowa. Looks like the tournament may have had trouble getting participants, as it is apparently only two games this year as opposed to three last year.

It looks like there will only be 11 players on the roster this year. That seems pretty thin to be able to deal with injuries. Glad to hear Kulesza has not bailed out. We'll see what happens with Davis, but I'm not fond of project centers. The last one, MK Moore, did not work out. On the other hand, Sune Swart was a bit of a project and ended up being very good. |

Didn't want to start a separate thread for this, but Jewel Spear, Kahliel's sister, who is a rising senior and one of the better guards in the country, cut her list of colleges down to eight earlier in the summer. Not too shabby a list: - Louisville - Georgetown - Kansas - Michigan - Texas Tech - Wake Forest - Alabama - North Carolina State

Temple is the bigger name, but Drexel has been significantly better than Temple the last couple years. They handed the Bison one of their very few losses last year.

Cincinnati, Quinnipiac, and UVA will be tough games. Stony Brook is also decent. The rest of the schedule is fairly easy. Even with all the graduation, this will be a good team. Keep in mind their final RPI was 37 last year. |

Very close preseason poll released today: Patriot League Women’s Basketball Preseason Poll Lehigh – 140 (9 first-place votes) Holy Cross – 138 (5 first-place votes) Bucknell – 132 (4 first-place votes) Boston University – 113 American – 103 (2 first-place votes) Colgate – 78 Loyola Maryland – 74 Navy – 44 Lafayette – 42 Army West Point – 36 Ellie Mack, as expected, is an All-PL pick. There won't be any easy games this year, as even the bottom three are dangerous. I think Navy should have been ranked a few spots higher. Army is not a typical last place team either.

Bison will have a new face for their women's broadcasts this year: Joe Vasile. He has been the announcer for West Chester's women's team the last few years and also has worked for several minor league baseball teams (including Scranton Wilkes-Barre). Joe has also done some Bucknell women's games as a fill-in and also some soccer and FH games, while also doing work for Princeton and Lafayette. Based on from what I have heard from his so far, I think his addition will likely be an upgrade. The previous Bison announcer, Justin Antweil, has moved over to cover the Penn State women. Joe Vasile hired as radio play-by-play voice of Bison women's basketball

Never posted about the women's first game. Lost at Virginia, 80-64, although they only trailed by 9 points with 8 minutes left. Virginia currently is ranked 63rd in the country, so the result was no big surprise - especially with Abby Kapp playing very limited minutes. I noticed in a video last night that her knee was tightly wrapped in practice, so I am assuming that is the main issue. Hopefully nothing else. Ellie Mack had a very good game, with 19 points (on 13 shots) and 5 boards. The other highlight was Taylor O'Brien getting 13 points off the bench in 23 minutes. Three determining factors: (1) Bison were outrebounded 38-19 by a team that had more athleticism upfront; (2) Virginia got to the line for 28 FT's vs BU's 13 attempts; and (3) Virginia hit 55% on threes vs BU's 30%. We will learn a lot more about the new Bison tomorrow evening when they meet Monmouth in Sojka at 6 PM.

And who is Bridget Tobin (SO)? Is she a late walk-on? A walk-on, but not really late. She has been on the team the entire fall. Bridget Tobin is a 5-5 PG from Red Bank Regional (NJ Shore Conference) - which has been a good program and plays in a fairly strong league. She averaged 12 ppg, 4 rpg, and 4 apg as a senior. Dpubtful she will ever play meaningful minutes but the roster definitely needed an addition.

Nice win tonight against an overmatched Monmouth team. I was particularly impressed with Brugler, who clearly merited her step up to a starting role this year. I was a bit concerned that we only played seven players in the first half, for obvious reasons. However, when Krsul and Tai Johnson got on the court in the second half they both looked ready to contribute right away. I suspect we’ll see them in the first half of games pretty soon. |

How has the style of play changed with the new coach? Are we coaching to our player's strengths? The defense is much more aggressive. They played a lot of 3/4 court press. They seem to be more deliberate on offense - not looking for a lot of fast break opportunities, but passing and looking for the open player. |

Prior to the win today, the Bison were ranked 107th in the nation (Massey). Seven PL teams - Bucknell, Lehigh, Colgate, Holy Cross, Boston U, American, and Navy - are in the top 174. And the PL is the #18 conference in the nation - which might be its top ranking ever. Colgate has been bad for 15 consecutive years but thus far is playing very well. It might be a one-year phenomenon since their top player and a couple of other starters are seniors - but their coach, former Bloomsburg coach Bill Cleary - deserves a lot of credit. He is in his fourth year at CU.

I think she has definitely improved her game. Appears to be in better condition and showing some post moves that weren't seen her first two years. Her improvement has been a big factor in the team's strong play. Prior to the season, I didn't think they had much chance to challenge Lehigh or Holy Cross, but now I think it's a very realistic possibility.

Women got a very good win today 60-49 over Drexel, who had beaten us the last two years. Allie Johnson led four Bison in double figures with 15. Brugler had a double double and Mack just missed with 13 pts, 9 reb, and 6 ast. Bison head into final 6-3 with a 4 game winning streak. |

Based on Massey etc, Alabama is a good team but not great - slightly better than Drexel. But Minnesota is very good, so staying close to them for much of the game is a good outcome for American.

Nice to see Ally Johnson back on the floor today. 19 minutes, according to the box score. Yes. With her return, the bison have a good bench. Taylor O’Brien has been playing great, Ceppi rebounds and defends, and the two freshman, Tai Johnson and Krsul have been earning increased minutes with their play. I didn’t see the game today but it is possible Krsul got hurt. She played one minute at the start of the second quarter, got fouled, and then was taken out at the next stoppage of play.

Surprisingly, Tai Johnson played more minutes than O'Brien. Bison did a great job on Kucowski, holding her to 6 points on 3-10 shooting. She did get 13 reb, but only 3 offensive. Lafayette shot only 28% and 2-11 from 3. In contrast to our game, Colgate beat Army 100-94. I'm not sure what the PL women's record is for total points in a game, but this one's got to be in the top 10. |

Surprisingly, Tai Johnson played more minutes than O'Brien. O’Brien got in early foul trouble and only played eight minutes in the first half. She started the second half but missed two shots and had a turnover early and was pulled four minutes in. Never got back in the game. Apparently Woodruff liked the chemistry of the team on the floor or Tai Johnson’s defense or something. Although not her best game today, O’Brien Is a great athlete and contributes in a lot of ways.

I'm not saying this will be an easy game, but the results indicate we're the better team. Current RPIs are 94 (BU) and 105 (HC). Definitely not an easy game. HC starts four seniors, plus a soph PG who was the PL ROY last year. They also have the league's top player (Lauren Manis), who is the preseason POY this year and who will end her career having made 1st team All-PL three times and 2nd team once. HC also leads the nation in three-point shooting accuracy. Included on their resume thus far is a win over Boston College and also an OT loss at Illinois - but they have not been consistent. I will be rooting for the Bison of course, but if HC comes to play, I think they have a good chance to win on their home court. One other intangible is that HC is better coached this year, with Bill Gibbons having been suspended and then having his contract non-renewed. I don't think their interim coach, Ann McInerney is great - but she is a definite improvement.

In contrast to HC’s senior laden team, it’s worth remembering that we graduated three thousand-point scorers from last year’s team. The fact that we can still go nine deep this year despite those graduations says a lot about how far this program has come. |

Losing Walls would be a big blow. AJ and Tai can play the point, but they're not going to drive into the lane and draw fouls the way Marly does. She was key to keeping us in the game in the first half yesterday. |

Time will tell how serious her injury is. AJ did a fine job filling in for her. They didn't miss a beat vs. American. Big game Saturday @ Lehigh, but I like our chances. Walls was not dressed and had her knee in a brace. I would be very surprised to see her back this year. Hoping I'm wrong. I'm encouraged by the fact she was not on crutches. Time will tell how serious her injury is. AJ did a fine job filling in for her. I’m not particularly encouraged, although I certainly hope it is something less serious. I have seen dozens of players with torn ACL’s who were able to get along without crutches prior to their surgery. My daughter tore her ACL twice, for example, and never used crutches until after surgery. Whether crutches are needed or not depends mostly on the swelling, and that is a function of several things. Remember that Steven Tyree actually played most of the season in his final year with a torn ACL that had not been fixed. Lindsey Hollobaugh did the same. And Philip Rivers played in an AFC championship game with a torn ACL. Etc.

Bison women bused over to Lehigh this afternoon in the middle of the snowstorm. Arrived only an hour and five minutes before gametime. The Lehigh men on the other hand bused to Lewisburg the night before. Traveling today in the snow might’ve been a coaches decision, but my guess would be that the Bucknell administration simply refuses to pay for a hotel.

But why they arrived at the arena so close to game time was not clear. Normally teams arrive much earlier than 65 minutes before gametime.

Huge win for the bison today, beating previously undefeated Lehigh 71 to 50. BU hit a high percentage on threes, especially Kapp, and did a very good job on the boards. The only bad news is that it was confirmed that Marly Walls has a torn ACL and is out for the season. That is a big loss to the team.

Bad news about Marly, but not unexpected. AJ has stepped in and done a great job. I just worry about her playing nearly 40 minutes all season. There's a long way to go, but we've beaten the two teams picked to finish ahead of us on the road. And we've beaten them easily. If we get by Colgate on Wednesday, we're set up well for the rest of the season. |

Perhaps this win will get us some attention in the mid-major polls. Lehigh is ranked 16th. Stony Brook, who we took to 2OT is 13th. Drexel, who we beat handily, is 23rd. Our only "bad" loss is to Quinnipiac who is having an uncharacteristic off year. |

How do female athletes fair at recovering from ACL and MCL tears? About the same as men. Most of the time - assuming no other problems - they are able to come back well, eventually at 100%. Typical timeline from date of surgery has been 6-9 months to be playing again if no unusual complications. But some researchers are now recommending that young athletes should wait longer, to minimize risk of any recurrence. And of course everyone is different as to how long it takes to be back to 100%.

Even with the level of today’s medical gold standard it’s never an injury you want to have to rebound from. Not sure anybody really recovers to 100%. Bernard King was the first to “recover†from an ACL tear after the first level of medical advancement. Before that it was a death sentence. Imagine Bernard with two “good†knees late in his career. |

Bernard King was the first to “recover†from an ACL tear after the first level of medical advancement. Before that it was a death sentence. Imagine Bernard with two “good†knees late in his career. When King tore his, there was no transplant surgery available, so normally it WAS a death sentence as far as playing professionally. He did an incredible rehab job, but even then it took him two years to come back. And I don't think he was quite as good as he was in 1984-85 prior to the injury. Definitely not an injury you want to come back from - and my kids have collectively gone through three of them. Having said that, I think stats show that many athletes are as good after the injury as before, even though it may take some time. The surgery and rehab process has improved dramatically over the years, and it continues to get better. In fact there is a procedure being used on some the last couple of years where the ACL can actually heal itself - which normally it cannot do. Over time, that procedure may become the gold standard. Getting back to 100% is a mental process as well as physical, where the athlete has to fully trust the knee and not think about it when making an aggressive cut or a jump stop or when planting the leg to jump. It's not easy for some because they are doing the exact same thing that tore the ACL in the first place - and it's very easy to ease up either consciously or subconsciously.

Bison finally break into the mid-major top 25. Still ranked behind Lehigh and Drexel, neither of whom has nearly as good a resume as Bucknell. Sue Troyan must be paying off some of the voters. http://www.collegeinsider.com/womens-mid-major-top... It's also farcical - just as it is on the men's side - to see Gonzaga categorized as a mid-major.

Another dominant performance against a quality team tonight. https://bucknellbison.com/news/2020/1/22/strong -fi... Keep in mind, Colgate scored 100 points against Army and was averaging over 70 ppg. We held them to 43. With Lehign losing badly to HC, we are now 2 games up on all three having beaten them all once. We have an easier stretch now with 6 games against the bottom half of the league. |

We have an easier stretch now with 6 games against the bottom half of the league. OK, jinx complete. Never expected we would lose to the last place team. Loyola's defense baffled us all day and we gave up too many O rebounds. Hopefully this serves as motivation and doesn't undermine their confidence. |

They were probably overdue for a real clunker. . What concerns me however is the lack of real point guard with Marly Walls out. Ally Johnson is a very good shooting guard but really isn’t suited to play the point. Also playing that position limits her ability to get open threes from the wing. They will go as far as their defense takes them. Today for whatever reason, Loyola hit a very high percentage of their three point attempts.

Walls could have made a difference today. It didn't help that Loyola was very aggressive and the refs decided to swallow their whistles. Our players were getting the snot beat out of them in the lane. |

Any idea why Brugler only played nine minutes? Seems a little low for her. She picked up two fouls in 15 seconds late in the first. Sat for the rest of the half. Started the third quarter, but got a quick foul again and went back to the bench. She could have come back into the game later in the third quarter or at the start of the fourth - but by then, Bucknell was up by about 35 points and Ceppi/Krsul were doing fine in her place. I don't think there's an injury issue - just didn't need her with a 35+ point lead.

Our RPI dropped to 60 after the Loyola loss. I thought it would be worse. But then dropped to 63 after last night. That probably has more to do with Lehigh's tailspin than anything we've done. That win is much less impressive now that they've lost four in a row. |

That win is much less impressive now that they've lost four in a row. A big reason for the drop is simply having played Army, who has a very poor record. RPI gives a major weight to the strength of your opponents. That is a major reason that models such as Pomeroy or Massey are much more accurate. Also a major reason why RPI was dropped for the men's tournament selection process.

Where does Pomeroy have the women ranked? Pomeroy has no women's rankings. The best one for women's rankings is probably Massey, although I think his rankings place too much weight on the most recent couple of games. Massey has Bucknell at #94 at the moment. They were #72 a week ago - prior to the Loyola loss and the Army win.

You would think beating a team, regardless how bad, by 30+ points would help your ranking. There probably is no perfect ranking system. In the end it doesn't matter, except perhaps for NCAA seeding. |

Beating Army did help, but only by a small amount. Note that the changes that are displayed above are ones from a week earlier – so it incorporates both the Loyola loss and the Army win. After losing to Loyola, I believe the Bucknell ranking was 97. Then it improved a bit after beating Army but not nearly back to where it had been a week or 10 days earlier.

Bison head to American today with a 2 game lead in the PL standings. AU is not the team they've been in past years, but we've also lost our last two road games. Need to be ready for this one. The 2 game lead comes courtesy of Boston, beating Colgate in Hamilton on Wednesday. BU, Colgate, and Lafayette (!) are now tied for 2nd at 8-4. Lehigh and HC are tied at 7-5. Our last 5 games are against those 5 teams. The last 3 games are against the teams tied for 2nd, with Colgate and Lafayette on the road. Every game is like a playoff game now. |

Krsul was not at the game Wednesday and only played a few minutes today. Good to get this win playing short handed. They'll need Brugler and some others to stop Lauren Manis on Wednesday. The top 6 teams play each other tomorrow - HC @ Bucknell, Colgate @ Lehigh, Lafayette @ Boston. Best case scenario would be a win over HC and losses for Colgate & Boston. That would put us 3 games up on the field (4 on HC) with 4 games to play. Worst case is the opposite. HC has beaten Lehigh & Lafayette their last two games and will not be a pushover. We will need our interior players at full strength to deal with Manis. Walls kept up in the game up there in the 1st half before she injured her knee. Hopefully, Brugler and Krsul are healthy again and no one else has gotten sick. The roster is thin to begin with. |

Holy Cross stayed close until the 2nd half when Bucknell only allowed them 9 points in the 3rd quarter. From there the offense pounded away to a nice victory. Coach said it was perhaps not the smoothest game, not their best game, but overall a good one. Lehigh got pounded tonight, so let's see how they come to play this Saturday? |

Bison got another good win today over Lehigh to move to 20-6, 13-2. Lehigh made a late run after Bucknell went up 18, but we did enough down the stretch. Lehigh and HC both fall to 8-7 after being picked 1-2 in preseason. Boston came back from 16 down in the 4th, but lost by 1 at AU. They are now 3 down with 3 to play. Colgate won at HC to stay 2 games back heading into Wednesday's showdown with the Bison in Hamilton. Ellie Mack scored her 1000th point in only her 3rd season. It's a shame she can't come back for a 5th year. |

Good teams find a way to win when it isn’t all clicking, and that was the case today. Give Lehigh some of the credit for that, as I thought their defense was good for much of the game. These grind it out wins can be confidence builders, and I hope that’s the case. Next week is huge. |

I see that yesterday‘s game drew more than 1000 people to Sojka, one of the best attendances the women have ever had other than the education day crowds. I think it is possible that we may see games in the next couple of years where the women outdraw the men. Since Aaron Roussel took over, and continuing through this year, the women’s team has been extremely fan friendly. They stay on the court after games to talk to friends and any fan who wants to greet them - especially kids. So do the coaches. And they appreciate the fans who turn out for road games. All of that is the opposite of the attitude of the men’s staff, who generally treat their fans as if they have some sort of contagious disease. The coaches give the impression that they would be just as happy if they played in front of a crowd of 15 people - and if not one fan supported them on the road. (Note: I don’t put John Griffin in that category, but unfortunately he is gone.)

Great game today for Autumn Ceppi, who got a start with Tessa Brugler out with the flu. Ceppi got 13 rebounds, 10 of them in the second half, to give the Bison enough extra possessions to come out on top. At times it appeared they were playing five versus eight. The reffing in most women’s games at this level is atrocious at best.

Talk about a game of swings. Can’t remember many games with so many big ones back and forth. Great win by a gritty group of women who never quit. Quite a year when you consider that we graduated three thousand-point scorers, lost our starting point guard early in the conference season, and still clinched the regular season championship with two games to go. I guess you can tell that I really like this team. |

Bison wrap up the regular season tonight at Lafayette. Most of the playoff seedings are set, but Lafayette could drop to 5th with a loss and a HC win. Bucknell is up to #20 in the mid-major poll, #51 in RPI. ESPN has them as a 14 seed in the NCAA, which seems too low. Would be great to get a 12 again. But they have to get there first. It was great that they got a standing ovation at halftime of the men's game last night. |

I really hate the way the lower seeds can’t get neutral sites. I don't like it either, but it's not going to change because of the economics of the women's tournament. It has traditionally lost money, and any first weekend bracket that is not played on the home court of a top seed will be played in front of an empty arena. Even the Regionals the next week don't draw well unless there is a local team in it. Btw, one thing that I don't think has been mentioned is that the Bison women are assured an NIT berth if they don't win the PLT. Obviously winning the tournament is the objective, but an NIT berth isn't a terrible consolation prize. You may recall that the Bison won an NIT game in 2016, beating Akron on the road.

I see that the Bison effectively were #1 in home women's attendance of all PL schools - the first time that has happened. Army is listed as #1 by a small margin, but that is due to their Army/Navy one-admission double-header, where most of the crowd was there for the men's game. Take away that attendance - many of whom weren't there for much of the women's game - and the Bison are well ahead of Army.

Bison just got a little help with SE Missouri upsetting UT-Martin in the OVC championship. That's a projected #13 gone. |

I see that the Bison effectively were #1 in home women's attendance of all PL schools - the first time that has happened. Averaged 942 per game. In the past it was rare to get over 1000 for a game, even a tournament game. Hopefully, there will be good crowds for this year's tournament, even with the students on break. Bison women easily outdrew the Lehigh men - and had approximately the same average attendance as the Colgate men.

Thrilled for Trevor Woodruff, who has had a great first year. Congrats also to Aaron Roussell, who took Richmond from nine to fifteen wins in his first year there. If Richmond women’s basketball was a stock I’d be a buyer. |

The women cruised to an easy win over Army. Holy Cross is up next after they crushed Lafayette. Colgate lost their 4th game in a row, twice in 5 days to Lehigh at home. Had they won just one more regular season game, they would have finished 2nd and gotten the WNIT bid if Bucknell wins the tournament. |

Any word as to whether fans will be allowed in Sojka tomorrow night....like to know before I start a 2 1/2 hour drive As of now they are still advertising to encourage people to buy tickets for the game. No hints at all about any possible restrictions. And the PIAA state swim meet is continuing to be held at Bucknell, with large crowds at every session.

The NBA just suspended the season, after a Jazz player tested positive. I was at the Pistons vs. Sixers game last night. There were so many empty seats that it felt like a preseason game. The ticket sales were probably over 20k, but the actual attendance was probably around 9k-10k. It felt like around 50% of seats were empty. No lines for beer or food. Very strange.

Now the PIAA swim meet at Bucknell has been postponed. Basketball game is still on, but I get the feeling that the decision-makers can't make a decision on spectators. As of now, spectators will be allowed - but it wouldn't surprise me if Bravman decided 20 minutes before game time to ban spectators.

I have a feeling the whole tournament is going to be getting canceled within the next hour or two. If that turns out to be the case, it will show utter incompetence on the part of the PL and/or Bucknell. There is nothing that is known now that is different than what was known at 9 AM. The only difference is that many family members, friends, and fans have already made long drives to Lewisburg.

I agree but with pretty much every remaining men’s tournament getting canceled today, it would surprise me if the Patriot League doesn’t do the same for the women’s tournament. Hope I’m wrong. |

There are a few differences: 1. The big men's tournaments draw 100,000+ fans and have huge crowds sitting in close proximity at every game. At Bucknell, with some folks likely staying home, there will maybe be 700 people spread out over a 4000 seat arena. 2. The P6 tournaments that have been cancelled had barely begun. In contrast, the PL tournament has already played 8 of its 11 games.

In a typical example of the Patriot Leagu'e GROSS INCOMPETENCE, they just this second announced the rest of the tournament is cancelled. That is a decision that could easily have been made last night - but the buffoons running the league hemmed and hawed until many people had already traveled to the site.

In fairness, I don't think anyone saw a reason to cancel if the PIAA was going to continue with the swim meet. When the PIAA decided at noon today to cancel the rest of the meet, it made the decision easier (though very inconvenient for those who made the trip, including the HC team & fans). |

Yes, it gave them move cover for the cancellation - but no more reason to cancel. Nothing has changed since last night. The PL has never been known for competence.

Yes, but it seems as if the Patriot League, not Bucknell made the call. Now this brings up an interesting question regarding Ellie Mack, as she does have a year of eligibility. Just sayin' |

Just sayin' I would HOPE Bucknell would relax their policy on 5th year athletes, at least for spring sports. It would be terrific to have Ellie back for a 5th year if she's interested. B137 can confirm, but I think they still have one scholarship they're holding. I know coaches are already encouraging spring sport athletes who already plan to go to grad school elsewhere to enter the transfer portal. |

With all respect to 137 and the rest of the posters, I think "gross incompetence" and other complaints about the Patriot League is totally unfair. We are operating under circumstances no one, even a week ago, would have imagined. To single out the PL is stupid, as a lot more can be said about other organizations, like the NCAA, which is far bigger and more encompassing than the PL, who I believe were even less prepared for what happened. I know we are all upset about what has happened, and feel sorry for the students, parents, university - the list is too long to complete. But in the end, the right things are being done. And really, in the grand scheme of things, a lot worse things are happening to people across the country that make college sports pale in comparison. Let's all pitch in, help one another, and we will get through this eventually. The time to discuss and worry about college sports is after we conquer this virus and the rest of the problems in the country begin to heal. |

1. There is absolutely no reason t gf hat a decision That was made at 2 PM could not have been made at 10 AM before many people traveled to Lewisburg. In the patriot league, no one can make a decision. 2. I have seen many many examples of gross incompetence. I would not have used the term if this was the first time. As an example look back to the end of softball season last year when the league let Boston University steal a championship and the #1 seed in softball by going home without permission. There is a reason why a number of patriot league administrators treat the league with disdain.

The incremental way in which the decisions were made is unfortunate. When PL says the basketball was up to the involved institutions and then reverses that position and cancels, it makes one wonder about competence. HC was in town over Wed night and could have played without spectators if needed. Why did PL give Bucknell/HolyCross the power to decide and take it away hours later? And 137 is right as to question the time lag...I know people who were told the game was on in the morning and had begun the trip on Thursday before learning of the cancellation at 1:50. |

One of the Wilkes Barre-Scranton TV stations interviewed Trevor Woodruff today. Among other things, he mentions that Ellie Mack has entered the transfer portal. I don't know how serious she is about playing a 5th year, but it would have been nice if Bucknell would have given her the option. https://fox56.com/news/local/bucknell-w omens-baske...

I would have been more than nice. It would have been great for the team but also the ethical thing to do given the way their season ended. She will contribute wherever she goes, but could land with a pretty good team. |

Story on Marly Walls' injury and rehab: https://www.dailyitem.com/sports/local_sports/w all... She tore both the ACL and MCL. Rehab is more difficult due to the lockdown. Hopefully she will be ready to play in November, but that is not a certainty. Marly is a key player for the Bison.
