Cecelia Collins, a 5-11 guard from Scranton Prep, committed to the Bison today. Had offers from St. Bona, Army, and maybe others. Averaged 16 ppg, 6 rpg, and 4 apg. Third team All-PA in Class 4A and 1st team All-Region. Scranton Prep went 28-0, advancing to the 4A quarters before the tournament was cancelled. Seems like a solid addition, but doesn't satisfy the team's biggest need, which is a post player with size. There should be one scholarship left. The other two commitments this spring are 6-0 wings, from Long Island and New Hampshire: Isabella King: http://boards.basketball-u.com/showtopic.php?tid/2... Remi Sisselman: http://boards.basketball-u.com/showtopic.php?tid/2...

Nice pick up! It always amazes me when I see Service Academies in the mix for players. It is such an enormous decision to make, giving 8 years of your life or more to the military. But also having your athletic goals factoring in seems like a huge decision for a 17-18 year old to make. |

One thing to remember, however, is that there is no firm commitment until a service academy student begins his/her third year. Before that, they can opt out with no penalty.
