From interview with Seton Hall coach Kevin Willard:

“Bryce is still recovering (from injury sustained at Harvard). He’s getting stronger, getting better, but he’s still a ways away from being back on the court with us. He does a 45-minute to an hour (non-contact) workout every day. I’m taking it the way I always do with injuries, slowly. He’s a fifth-year senior so he knows the drill. There’s just no reason to push it right now.”

“The thing about Bryce is everyone (on the team) knew him already, being a local guy. He really understands the game and thinks the game. I’ve had guys who play off feel and they’ve been unbelievable, but for the most part this is the first time since I’ve been here I really had a point guard who understands the game at a very, very high level. I think he would be a phenomenal coach. Instead of reacting to what happens he’s anticipating what’s going to happen.”

With both Seth and Bryce still working through their injuries, it seems clear that their absences last season weren't by choice. The mere fact that both were talking about playing again last year seems reflective of their competitive nature and desire to contribute.

We all lost out on a window of opporunity to feature the league nationally. Not sure if and when we'll have that opportunity again.

Aiken came off the bench for Seton Hall and went 1/4 from the field for 3 points before unfortunately going down with an ankle injury. It's being called a right ankle sprain, and he was ruled out for the rest of the game (which Seton Hall lost by 1). Hoping Aiken's okay

Seton Hall coach Kevin Willard said "he sprained it pretty good", and probably needs a week to return

I’d prefer if Bryce and Seth could have a clean run and torch opponents in their time as grad transfers for any number of reasons including them playing for their respective hometown teams after following a different path going to Harvard. Just awful that the bad injury luck has followed them.

From 11/29/20 (with 11/30/20 update)

https://www.nj.com/setonhall/2020/11/set on-halls-b...

- After spraining his right ankle in Friday’s loss at Louisville, Seton Hall guard Bryce Aiken is out “at least two weeks,” Pirates coach Kevin Willard told NJ Advance Media on Sunday. -

- The good news for Aiken is that the injury wasn’t related to his left knee, which is still recovering from surgery.

“Bryce has worked really hard to get his body physically ready to play,” Willard said in his pre-game radio interview Friday. “I think the problem is he had just started practicing and getting some bumps and bruises and getting some confidence in his knee and his body and then we shut down for two weeks so he probably got affected more than anybody. ... I’m just not sure what we’re going to get yet from him and I think everybody’s going to have to be real patient with Bryce.” -

Seton Hall's Bryce Aiken (ankle) still has no updated timetable for a potential return, per Kevin Willard. Pirates are at Marquette on Thursday.

Aiken is dressed and available for Seton Hall's game tonight at Marquette, although Kevin Willard said he's not sure if Aiken will get into the game

12 minutes off the bench for Aiken in a tight 70-63 win for Seton Hall at Marquette. Aiken had 3 points on 1/6 shooting, with 1 assist and 1 rebound. Hopefully he can get some consistent games in to shake off the rust

Aiken played against Georgetown today. Not a good shooting night, but hopefully better times ahead.

I saw some of the Seton Hall - Marquette game. Aiken did look pretty rusty, and playing on an ankle that's not 100% really limited his mobility and quickness.

Hope he can get healthy and be more of a contributor going forward.

Aiken's having his best game of the season right now in a big road game at Xavier. 11 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists on 4/6 shooting halfway through the second half, with Seton Hall up by 20 at 8-1 Xavier.

Aiken looks a lot more comfortable tonight. Hit a pull up transition 3 from deep: https://twitter.com/BIGEASTMBB/status/134 444967234...

Aiken looked good. It will be fun to see him as he gets more involved. Seth also looking good for OSU. He is a bit slow on defense still but coming around.

It would be cool to see them on the same court in March!

I saw the Seton Hall - Xavier game. Aiken looked sharper and much more comfortable on the court. More like the Aiken we saw in the Ivies.

Ugh - ankle injury again for Aiken tonight and it didn't look good. Stepped on a Creighton player's foot. Hope he's alright

Seton Hall coach Kevin Willard says Bryce Aiken (ankle) will be out a few weeks. Harvard transfer has played in just four games this year. #shbb

What a shame

Seton Hall's Bryce Aiken (ankle) is not expected to play Tuesday against Villanova, per Kevin Willard. Averaging 3.3 PPG.

Willard on Aiken: "We're hopeful that he'll be back in the lineup Friday at Butler."

Aiken ended up suiting up and being cleared to play last night against Villanova. He played 10 scoreless minutes with 2 rebounds and 2 assists for Seton Hall in a 2-point loss to Villanova

Aiken is back for year 2 with Seton Hall and looked good in the first half of their opener against Fairleigh Dickinson. 10 points at halftime, with his friend Kyrie Irving in attendance.

He'll see Yale on Sunday

Fortunately for Aiken, Sunday's game will not be a postseason game — he has a rather poor record against the Bulldogs when it counts.

Well, an 0-2 record but certainly not his doing. 28 as a freshman in the Palestra and 38 in the final at Yale. Pretty sure the Hall would take one of those performances this weekend.

Aiken was clutch down the stretch against Michigan last night. That game earned him more prime minutes moving forward.

Rutgers + Columbia?

By the way, Ron Harper Jr's shot reminded me of Bryce except that Bryce made his adjustments in the air while Harper's feet were still on the ground.
