Bison were his first and only offer. Hopefully the staff got this one right. He didn't have a HS season this year, and obviously AAU competition and camps have been limited, so it is hard to judge. Muller plays for NJ power Blair Academy, which has turned out a lot of D1 players and a few NBA ones. Muller appears to be largely a jump-shooter, with an occasional drive. Tough to judge much from limited highlight videos however. Possibly a replacement for Andrew Funk. Since he hasn't played HS/AAU in a year, there isn't a lot of video. Also a scouting report from a Fall 2019 camp: "Brady Muller, 2022 Guard/Wing, Blair Academy (NJ): He is probably going to have a breakout season this year. Arguably the best scorer in camp that no one knew about. He is dangerously under the radar, the 6’4†wing took a high volume of shots, but shot better than 50% from the field. He was putting on a show offensively both in transition and in the half court."

Muller's Blair Academy team has been playing for a month. Muller's stats are available for most games at the end of the highlights package. Thus far in nine games, he has 102 points (11.3 ppg), 30 rebounds (3.3 rpg), 12 assists (1.3 apg), and 5 steals. The highlights show him hitting 17 threes, 16 of which were catch-and-shoot without ever putting the ball to the floor. It should be noted that Blair is a strong team and plays a tough schedule. Having said that, my hopes of an upside close to Andrew Funk seem to have been too high a bar.

Anybody able to locate a 3P% for this kid? A knockdown shooter could be worth something if he's able to defend. A player who can do one thing an an A+ Level, coming from a program that has multiple alumni playing for Duke (Among other HMs) isn't the worst thing. Agree that I'd like to see some more versatile talent filling out the class. With that in mind, we may be saving a spot or two or three for the Transfer Portal. Food for thought |

Who’s going to want to transfer to Bucknell that would academically qualify? It's actually easier to fit under the PL academic index as a transfer than it is as an incoming freshman IF you have been in college 1.5 years. That is because the only PL academic hurdle at that point is having a good college GPA. Your HS GPA, class rank, and SAT score are no longer in play. So a potential transfer with a 3.2 GPA in playground recreation from Eastern Kentucky or in criminal justice from Iona would be OK by PL standards. But the remaining issue, of course, is whether Bucknell Admissions is OK with it. That hurdle is higher at some PL schools than at others. A bigger question, however, is what good basketball player is going to want to transfer into this program.

It's a fair question, but a kid who is in a bad situation at a school far worse basketball wise than Bucknell could see a program with history and a need for a certain position and give it a shot. Recruiting isn't always logical from a fan's perspective. 4 years ago, we lost recruits because we were "too good". We'll see how it plays out |
