Home Opener. Penn at Bucknell in Sojka at 2 PM Sunday. Article on BucknellBison.com: https://bucknellbison.com/news/2021/11/13/mens- bas... Penn is a team that will be a lot better in January than they are now, with the Ivy League having cancelled basketball last year. They have a a big man who was highly regarded out of HS: Max Lorca-Lloyd: a 6-9 center who had offers from PSU, VCU, Baylor, Cal, UConn, Georgetown, Vandy, OSU, etc. Their top player thus far has likely been 6-3 Jordan Dingle, a SG from Blair Academy who Bucknell recruited a bit while he was in HS. Another key starter for them is Jonah Charles, whose brother, Karl Charles, was a starter for Holy Cross before being expelled. Penn is viewed as a very slight favorite.

I was thinking about driving to Lewisburg last night with Mrs. Bison89, but due to the Penn State football game, hotels from Shamokin Dam to Williamsport were much more than normal. We ended up doing a bike ride and going out to a nice restaurant in AC instead. ESPN+ makes it easy to watch games at home. GO BISON!

ESPN+ is actually awesome considering the cost. It’s got TONS of programming and is high quality. What was that awful basketball service the PL used for hoops a few years ago? |

So much for masks required in Sojka. 50-75% of student section is maskless. And not one word will be said. |

If Funk wasn’t shooting out of his mind this would be a runaway for Penn. Also, why does Donahue wear his mask the entire game but Davis thinks he doesn’t have to? |

If they’re both vaccinated why are either wearing a mask in an arena full of vaccinated people? Maybe he feels less performative in his post-pandemic protocols? I don’t really care because the team sucks. |

I’m not saying I agree is he’s should be masked, it every other coach from both teams wore masks because that is the rule. Except Davis thinks he’s special and doesn’t apply to him. Also Bucknell is a joke, making paying customers wear masks and allowing an entire student section to be mask free. Either have the mask rule for all or not. |

I understand now. I’m sorry I was short with you. Davis will doubtless be kept for a couple more years and I’ll just say it, he sucks. An improved roster, better recruiting, etc. wouldn’t make a difference. We all know but SHHHHHH…..people won’t log on if you’re negative. |

Keeping this section away from politics all I will say is Bucknell put out a statement saying everyone would have to mask at ALL events vaccinated or not status. I’m not sure how ND gets the “Get out of Jail free card” on that. He is still a spectator like anyone else in that arena. Not only would he have broke Bucknell’s own rule/statement that was sent out, but if the Patriot League as a whole did the same he broke that as well. He is not "a spectator like anyone else." Per Bucknell policy, "Active participants in the competition are not required to wear face coverings on the team bench or playing surface. The definition of an Active participant includes student-athletes and the head coach." |

Going forward, note that mask rules are set by each school, so you'll see different mask behaviors depending on where we're playing, even within the Patriot League. |

He did wear a mask in the post-game interview, as the policy would seem to require. |

Criticism of Davis is apparently unjust. I guess I figured every staff member on his own bench and every staff member on opponent bench wore masks throughout, but Davis thumbing his nose at that is perfectly acceptable behavior. Please. I’d rather someone do the right thing rather than the thing that is technically allowed. And I’m pretty sure the student section are spectators. Bucknell completely dropped the ball in not enforcing their own policy. |

I hope my thread doesn’t offend you because it seems you don’t like posting under that topic. You know it saves you a few steps without copying and pasting each time. |

Lasalle beat Penn by 2. This could be another long 2 hours on Saturday. |

PENN seems to have had some unlucky injuries and has fallen off the cliff a bit in the last two weeks. La Salle will certainly be a better shot at victory than our next game in VA |
