The first NET Rankings are out, and they match up pretty well with a Twitter thread that mrjames put out on Sunday: https://stats.ncaa.org/selection_rankings/ni tty_gr... Cornell 99 Princeton 103 Brown 169 Yale 173 Harvard 178 Dartmouth 212 Penn 223 Columbia 346 |

How does KenPom only have Cornell at a 219? They beat a top 125 at home and had a relatively close loss to a top 100 on the road.

Well, Cornell started at 288 and the rest of their wins aren't anything special (but at least they are wins). Plus, the wins over Bingo and Lafayette were pretty close. It'll sort itself out. |

https://twitter.com/marchmadness/status/1 067063960... I'm certainly no stats expert, but at first glance, I'm liking the new NET ranking system. Specifically, I appreciate capping point differential at 10 points (1pt for OT games). It's college sports... encourage teams to clear the bench in a blowout, not run up a 30pt thrashing. |
