The Ivy League's two 1-0 teams square off in the Palestra Fri-7pm. By Pomeroy, Penn has the upper hand. In the other services, the Big Red gets the nod. Somehow, it feels like the Quakers are better than their ranking, and, with the homecourt advantage, seeing them as a 3-4pt favorite seems a little light. Jordan Jones and Nazir Williams missed the Dartmouth game. Having their 20+PPG worth of firepower would make a big difference for the Red, and give the visitors a better chance to score a road W. |

Disappointing loss, even if the score is a bit deceiving. Most of the game was played at a 5-7 point spread, until a late Quaker run. Still, no question was the better team last night. Cornell was a stunningly bad 8-22 at the rim, while Penn shot 20 of 28. The 14 inside misses were a combination of good Penn D and some bad CU shot selection. And that was the difference, Penn was better at both ends near the rim. Now to see if that depth helps on day 2 of a back-to-back. |

Now to see if that depth helps on Day 2 of a back-to-back. At least for one half, something seems to be helping. Cornell is up 39-25 over Princeton at the break. Now the big challenge. Princeton came back big time on the Lions last night. Let's see if the Red can keep command of this game. |

Red up 14 at the 11min mark of the second half. Tigers now showing life on offensive end. They definitely miss Jaelin Llewellyn. Hope his hammie heals quickly. |

Tigers' Matt Allocco hits a 3ptr at the buzzer to break Cornell's heart, 72-70. |

I give Earl a lot of credit for changing the style of play this season. If you want to play 11-12 guys in the first half and early 2nd that is fine and it worked during the out-of-conference schedule. But, in a tight league game, you have to go with the guys who are playing well. Patel was scoring and gets taken out when they needed points. You have to shorten your bench in a game like this. On the flip side, Henderson’s move to the 1-3-1 changed the game, and Cornell’s guards looked confused on how to attack it. Great shot at the end and a tough loss for Cornell. |
