Obviously containing Nweke will be a huge focus, would not be surprised to see Tigers doubling him tonight. Hopefully Kellman and Tosan are healthy and can split some time on him.

Opponents have shot almost 40% from 3 on Columbia this season, so shooters should be open tonight and hopefully being in Jadwin will offset the rust from not playing for a while.

Very slow start for Princeton on both ends. Columbia's size causing issues for the Tigers offensively and some hot shooting to start tonight for the Lions

No answer for Nweke so far.

Has PU ever had an 0 Fer on 3 pt shots for an entire half?

Yikes! Columbia looks like a completely different team and we're getting crushed. De La Rosa nails a 35ft trey to beat the buzzer to add insult to injury.

Princeton: 0-9 from 3
Columbia: 5-7 from 3

As Savage noted, Lions are not doubling Tosan, leading to fewer open 3 looks. Tigers not content to win shooting 2s, keep forcing 3s whenever they get close. They also bailed Columbia out by not attacking the rim and getting to the line with Columbia racking up 7 fouls early.

Vegas oddsmakers must be scratching their heads. If I were a gambling man, I'd never bet on Ivy conference games. Too unpredictable. Let's see how they respond in the 2nd half.

Yes they’ve had at least one game where they made only one Trey in a game. So one of the halves would’ve an ohfer.

I guarantee you they will hit at least one second half.

Ooof. That was an ugly half. Columbia fired up. Tigers cold as an ice cube, rotten shot selection, and no answers on D. The 5 point swing at end of the half just should not happen. Jalen with a garbage circus shot too early on the clock and the Columbia guy throws in a bomb at the buzzer. Uggh!

Tigers look rusty. My theme continues--they only get stops when they pressure the ball and force turnovers. But the Lions are shooting at an unsustainable level.

On offense, they've adjusted somewhat to the no-doubling-low strategy Columbia is using, but they should have a lot more backdoor cuts and backdoor layups. Not enough off-ball movement. The drives and post-ups haven't been bad, once they realized what was going on, but eventually some threes will have to go down for this game to be won.

Great answer out of the locker room. 14-2 run to tie it before Nweke gets a putback. Let's hope they keep it up. To quote Dick Vitale, "Just win, baby..."

Some really good minutes from Johns in the 2nd half - somehow kept his dribble while falling down and then finished over De La Rosa.

Would like to see the Tigers continue to post him with Johns and Langborg as much as they can. If Columbia's going to commit to not helping on post ups that's a winnable matchup most times I think

This just in: Tosan is a really good basketball player. Llwellyn looking the part of a possible POY as well. And Alloco seems to be figuring some things out.

WOOOO! From 12pt deficit to 11pt lead. Lot of game left to play, but man, I breathed a sigh of relief.

To some extent, it may just be percentages evening out. Jaelin and Tosan took over to start the half and now the 3s are falling.

Yeah, Langborg has shown some really quick hands on defense. Whether or not he gets credit for the steal/block, he gets a lot of stops by getting a piece of the ball from the side or behind.

Columbia decides to try zone for a possession and Langborg quickly punishes it with a corner 3!

Oh no. Jaelin needs help off the court. The way he grabbed the back of his thigh makes me think it's a hamstring pull.

Classic hamstring pull. Could be lost for the year

And after all that Princeton wins by 15! Vegas bettors would laugh and remind me that "the numbers even out."

I'm still concerned about Jaelin's injury. If it is the hamstring, he's gotta be careful. Sometimes you can tweak your hammy and feel better the next day. And then you retweak it and now it's worse. With the Ivy tourney, we can afford to lose a winnable game.

As much as it would stink splitting a C/C series at home, I'm perfectly fine with playing it safe with a Jaelin injury.

Looked like Jaelin was at least walking around in the postgame, good to see that after he had to be carried off.

Great 2nd half! Would love to not see a first half like that the rest of the year lol

That was a scary-looking injury. I thought he might have been kneed really hard back there at first, but the way he walked off on the shoulders of his teammates was discouraging.

Must learn to come out of the shoot from minute one. Difference between mens and womens team is 40 minutes of defense by Carla's group vs. Mitch's group. Before the game, Noah is talking about how great a shooting team that Princeton is. Always a lot of talk about offense vs. defense.

Carla was beaming with joy in her conversation with Price that the women only shot 25% in the 1st half against Harvard yet Tigers had a 9 pt lead at half time and then held the Crimson to 1 to 15 shooting in the 3rd quarter. I realize that it is easier to defend in the women's game but Carla has a different philosophy/strategy than Mitch until the Princeton men get punched in their mouth like the 1st half this evening. Defense is technique for sure but definitely attitude and effort.

Good news was that Jaelin was walking after the game but somewhat gingerly. They obviously need him.

Wow! What a turn around. Amazing how when the shots start to fall, everything else falls into place. Fingers crossed that Jaelin is ok.

Allocco looking more and more confident at both ends of the court. Very nice handle, and slick around the hoop.

Turned on the game and we were behind about 10 points. After that Columbia stopped scoring while we were showing some slick game. I loved the times when Columbia came down the court only to be stripped leading to another score for us. Tosan seemed to score at will inside. It appeared that Mitch may have taken a few lessons from the women about team defense.

The dependence of this team on getting turnovers from the opponent is remarkable (and a bit unnerving). They don't have a plethora of perimeter defenders who can bother drivers, and often play small so that they can be posted up. But winning the turnover battle 18-8 covers a multitude of sins.

Could not tell if Jaelin had a hamstring, knee, or something else injury when he first came off the court. It did seem weight bearing at first but he was walking at the end of the game talking to Mitch while pointing to the back of his leg just below the knee.

You would think that he will be sitting out tomorrow night, at least, but you never know.

Focus should be on the long-term and let Jaelin be healthy enough to pay at 100%. They cannot afford to lose Tosan, Wright or Jaelin but they have more back up at guard. They also need to get Kellman on the floor.

Where was Kellman tonight? Because when he plays they have the closest to a real starting five since I can remember? Good second half comeback though...

I agree that they definitely could use Kellman on the court and last night was a great example. Friberg is just too small as a PF although he does play very hard on defense.

In a perfect world, Tosan would play PF like Maddox did when the Tigers had Connally/Darrow as Centers. Hummer, a leaper, played SF although he could rebound. Game is different now but Tigers have an absence of good big men and you need players with size if they somehow would get to the Big Dance. A healthy Kellman would certainly help.

It is unfortunate that Hooks is not ready to get more playing time, paired with Tosan until Kellman gets healthy although it may happen tonight if Jaelin is out with an injury.

Assuming Jaelin is a no go, it will interesting to see if they start Hooks or Alloco. Against an uptempo Cornell I’m guessing Alloco.

This injury is going to expose the Tigers’ lack of guard depth, unless someone like Blake Peters matures very quickly.

Maybe the Tigers lack guard depth, but maybe you’ve just got 3 really good seniors and that takes up so many minutes that you don’t know much about the kids behind them.

What’s the deal with Garrett Johnson? My vague memory is that word was that he would be in the rotation. Will he play this year?

I think some Elijah Barnes run is also likely.
