https://bucknellbison.com/news/2022/1/25/bison- men... The Bison are a 10 point underdog (Pomeroy). This is only the second time they’ve ever been a double digit PL underdog in the league’s 32 years. The first time was exactly a week ago.

Certainly not worth a separate thread, and I couldn’t find a relevant one, so with apologies I’ll just stick it here. Last night I sat in on the alumni insiders Zoom event, which was an hour long chat between presidents Bravman and Sojka, moderated by the alumni association president. Both presidents expressed their strong support for collegiate athletics, and Bravman pointed out that more than 40 percent of the student body are Division 1 athletes. He also pointed out that there are very few schools our size with as many D1 programs as we have, and that our athletes have a higher graduation rate than the overall student body. Given our relatively modest endowment compared to our peers (a bit of a recurring theme), that’s pretty impressive. BTW, no specific sports were mentioned. |

75, I listened also and heard the same assertions by Bravman. On the small endowment theme, he also mentioned that there is one school, without D1 athletics, that has approximately the same tuition with six times the endowment. Overall an interesting conversation. |

I was talking with another fan today and he said he cannot believe there isn’t a donor or donors that wouldn’t put up the money to help “buy out”Davis’ contract so they can fire him. This guy is an outside observer and he just doesn’t see how Bucknell can keep Davis. So, hopefully Brahman understands this as well. |

Although Dr Brahman occasionally expresses support for athletics, he really has not shown support by his actions. There are a lot of little things that could easily be done to help out the teams and coaches, but the administration won’t allow it. As for endowment, Bucknell saw its endowment soar to more than &1.1 billion as of June 30. I That puts them ahead of Holy Cross, Lafayette, Loyola, and American. And they are very close to Colgate and Villanova, among others. Also way ahead of every school in the MAAC and the NEC.

Maybe transferring. I only say maybe because when I had the feeling of Turner leaving the minutes dropped significantly. |

I’m just staying now to see if these last two players get off the bench and see the court. 18 point deficit with 2:00 to go and Davis keeps his regulars out there…for a now 4-17 team. |

I'm getting transfer vibes after this game. We have four decent freshman I'd like to see how they do in a few years. |

I like that link. Apparently someone thinks we were national champions in 1901. :-) |

Actually it is the Primo Porretta National Championship, which retroactively named a national champion for every year prior to the establishment of the NCAA tournament. |

I hear No Coach is available. I have a cardboard cutout of Steve Martin and he is ready to coach. His required stipend is 29.95 and change. |

Funny the main thing Davis mentioned in his email that his team must improve is cutting down turnovers that allow run-outs, setting stronger screens, and rebounding. Apparently defense and other areas are solid. |

I hear No Coach is available. I'd be happy to coach a few games. There would be a Zone D at times depending upon the match ups, and we would never run a weave with a Center handling the ball against a 1-3-1 Zone.

89 so long as you don’t cross your arms and completely stop coaching when the team goes down by 10, you’re hired! |
