Bijiek, who was offered three weeks ago, is a 6-9 (maybe 6-8j 190 lb PF from West Des Moines. He is a senior but was planning to go to prep school in Missouri. He had offers - Nebraska, UCSB, Fort Wayne, Western Illinois, Hampton, Oakland - but presumably didn’t like any of them enough to commit. Also had offers from Seton Hall and Arkansas two years ago, but those were apparently off the table. It appears that Bucknell recently made him an offer when the transfers took place and convinced him to go in to college this year, as opposed to doing a prep year. There are some videos and a little information available on him, which I will post shortly. Fwiw, he had 3 stars from Rivals at some point.

He looks like he has some Muscala skills. Can’t say anything bad about this from first view. |

Until this late offer from Bucknell, he had no offers from eastern schools and no offers from good academic schools. Decided to go to Missouri to do a post-grad year and then suddenly Bucknell offers and he commits in a very short time frame.

It is a bit curious. One thing that is also a bit curious is that he had no offers from any schools in the two leagues that surround Iowa: the Missouri Valley conference and the Summit League.

247 does claim offers from Nebraska,Western Illinois, Arkansas and Hampton with interest from Iowa and Colorado State. Two of those are adjacent states. I do wonder about the Arkansas offer. Indo agree the timing of everything is strange. |

Indo agree the timing of everything is strange. The Arkansas offer was apparently an early offer that was off the table before it could be accepted.

Early reports on Bijiek are that he is very talented , but may need time to develop athletically. Hopefully his height and length can allow for his talent to thrive early on before his strength is developed. |

He is definitely an interesting prospect. Just curious— how is he showing his talents in the summer sessions so far? Blocking shots, defense, shooting or other? Sounds like he needs to add some weight and muscle but that’s not surprising. Is he looking like a rotation player for this year? |

I am curious to know the true mood and thoughts of the players. I’m not talking about the cliches we always hear from any team (“everybody is working hard,” “we have a lot of talent,” “we’re getting better each day,,” etc…) Are they sincerely positive about the direction of the team? Are there any surprises so far in terms of ready to play talent? With such player turnover, outside of the few obvious choices, have no idea who will be main rotation players and counted on most. |

Heard that Muller will need to work on his athleticism, but works very hard and plays very hard and with confidence. Appears that Ruot had that Nebraska offer (And potentially some of the other HMs) contingent on him going to Prep for a year. He liked Bucknell and chose to come here right away rather than prepping. So, in theory, we did in fact land a star recruit (For MM standards). Feedback from the staff says League is wide open and they believe they can win it. I'll reserve opinions on that though for a different thread |

We attended the poorly attended “choose your seats” season ticket and fan event last nite. It is actually a cool idea to meet the men’s and women’s teams and watch them have some fun with a 3-pt contest and dunk contest. However, I do not see a Friday night in local football season in September as being a great time. Unfortunately there were few fans attending. Elvin has a really nice shot and I can see him taking a step forward this year. Muller looks like he probably is a hard worker. Bijiek shot pretty well and looks like a good kid but he definitely needs to get stronger. |

I think it might have been nice to hold this homecoming weekend if possible. While they might not get more "seat selectors" they might have more attendance. |

The women’s team’s Breakfast with the Bison event last year was pretty well attended. If I recall correctly, it was on a Saturday morning. I think that’s a reasonable way to go. |

Yes, the women's Breakfast with the Bison was a lot better attended. Part of that was due to the selection of dates. Part imo due to the fact that the women have been MUCH more fan-friendly than the men's team. Roussell and then Woodruff have done the right things to build a relationship with the fans. ND has done every thing possible to show disdain for the fans. And that attitude can't help but affect the players to some extent.

To your point, while the players were on one side of the court along with assistant coaches, for the most part, Davis stayed on the opposite side of the court. Now, he did spend some time with his family, but I found it to be typical Davis. Maybe I missed something. I’m curious how close of a relationship he has with his players. |
