Did I miss it, or are the women very late announcing their recruits?

Nothing official yet, but the Columbia Lions are known to have at least two new recruits in Perri Page, a very in talented player from Chartiers Valley High School in Western Pennsylvania and a highly recruited 6'2" forward from the United Kingdom. Columbia lost only one player to graduation so there does not seem to be much room for newcomers.

Thanks, but do you know the name of the recruit from the United Kingdom?

Emily Montes, a point guard from the Trinity School in Miami, has already committed to Columbia for next year's incoming class. She appears to be one of the best basketball prospects in the State of Florida.

She's tall and has 6'7" wingspan, but I'm not clear how easily her British basketball background translates to the Ivy League???

What are your concerns?

Her stats aren't that impressive, and when she runs, she doesn't look that fast???

Maybe I am being too critical. I just wonder whether anyone else saw what I saw.

On the youtube clip reference above she does look very athletic to me, but given how great a coach Megan Griffith is, why worry. Just think Kitty Henderson from Australia. Also, Columbia has everyone returning upfront so Susannah is unlikely to see much playing time this year.

She does look more athletic in this video.

And no, I am not worried. She's got time to develop, and I am expecting a fine season.

I expect that as well.

My concerns are that Princeton could be a Top Ten ranked team nationally and Harvard, Yale and Penn are likely to be much better. Princeton outplayed Columbia last year and will have nearly everyone back plus a couple of super freshman prospects one of whom is 6'4." Columbia has three superstars returning in Abbey, Kaitlin and Jaida. However, Coach Griffith will need at least two other standouts to defeat Princeton. There are several possibilities including Kitty Henderson, Sienna Durr, and all four of the 6'1 forwards. The freshman from Western Pennsylvania, could also be a factor..

More than one month after this thread began, I've got to ask again: some time before school starts, they are going to announce the recruits for WBB, aren't they???

I should have checked first. The new recruits were announced yesterday.

No recruiting surprises given that almost the entire team is returning from last year so there was probably no room for more than two players. The Lions will have a very experienced team with lots of talent and depth. Unfortunately they will probably have to defeat a very strong Princeton team in order to make the NCAA post-season tournament unless the NCAA Tournament Committee awards two bids to Ivy League teams.

They're going on a foreign trip that includes Spain from which a player comes.
