Per Nathan Davis's latest weekly video, Jack Forrest is supposed to play. |

Well, one more game in the Cupcake City B League. Interesting how this schedule was carefully crafted to make the program look better here in a contract year. Hopefully Truax and the administration will see through this garbage and get us a real coach for next year. |

On the contrary, this schedule was excellent, save for the D3 opener. Remember, this was the 336th best basketball team in the country last year. Getting a few wins against peer teams is not a negative. It's good for these kids. Playing more home games than usual is a bonus. They have already played an SEC and an A10 team and have a Big Ten and another A10 team coming up. All in all, it's a solid schedule for this year's team. Look, I'm no Davis fan and would like to see him gone, but I think you're reaching. |

At 6-4 they have performed better than most of us expected.....likely to end up 7-6 in the OOC. Only 4 of 24 picked the Bison for 7 or more OOC wins. And the probability of improving on last year's 9-23 record has got to be almost 100%. What are the chances of a .500 record (including the playoff game)? I'd guess about 1 in 3. |

I definitely am not convinced this team is moving in the direction I’d like to see 1, 2, 3 years from now. I really think this team needs a new voice. |

What worries me is that this year is likely to be better than the next three or four. They will lose two very good players, plus another who has been a starter. Also the last few recruiting classes have not been particularly good, and there doesn’t appear to have been much urgency or effectiveness.

Not my cup of mushroom tea. Basically the previous coach's success made this one a coach of the year and now in the bleak light of the present we see what coach we have. No amount of Davis's low voiced bluster with confident tones can mask this. Now ghost, show us what Bucknell basketball of the future holds without change of some sort. |

Merrimack's team has been a bit of an enigma this year. They returned four starters from a team that was 9=8 in league play last year and that was picked for first in the NEC this year. Despite that optimistic outlook, thus far this year they are 0-11 against D1 opponents. One issue has been that Jordan Minor, their All-NEC PF/C has missed six games. But he has been back for the past couple of weeks and thus Merrimack may well give the Bison a tough game. A loss would be disastrous for BU.

Nothing about todays game to make you think this team is about to set the PL on its ear. |

One promising sign is that Jack Forrest looks like he will be a contributor....despite a little rust, he had a solid 20 minutes. A rotation that puts Forrest and Motta on the floor together might be effective, depending on the size and speed of the opponent. Motta should be able to guard most 3s and 4s, so they would have more flexibility with Forrest available.. |

It wasn't pretty, but considering they were playing without Screen and coming off a long layoff, it's an OK win. The first half was ugly, but they handled the 2-3 zone much better in the second half. Rice found ways to contribute even when he wasn't scoring. Especially taking a charge late in the game. That would have been a disaster if it went the other way. Williamson and Bijek held there own playing more minutes. Forrest should be able to contribute more as he gets more game experience. |

Bucknell should not waste time and give Davis his contract extension now. What? Since that is most likely not happening, Bucknell has wasted at least 3 seasons watching Davis fail miserably. This year’s OOC schedule is laughable. |
