Tonight in Sojka. Navy is a 2.5 point favorite in the betting lines, despite not doing well thus far in PL games. Two items: 1. With the bad weather today, attendance likely will be awful. In 2022-23, the Bison have already had the four worst attendances in Sojka history for D1 games: 747 vs Marist, 747 vs Lehigh, 846 vs Loyola, and 847 vs St. Francis. This game might challenge that D1 record. The all-time Sojka low vs any competition was on December 22, 2003 vs Ursinus when 632 attended. Given that there are 625-650 season ticket-holders this year, it is unlikely official attendance (which is based on tickets sold, not people in the seats) will be lower than 632 for any remaining game. But 700 is very possible. Thank you, Nathan Davis. 2. It was pointed out to me that Bucknell has played at least one game in March each year for many decades. Checking back I see that the last time BU did not play in March was 1980. But this year the PL play-in game will be February 28th, so there is a good chance there won't be a March game. Thank you, Nathan Davis.

They played in the ECC against the likes of Temple, LaSalle and St. Joe’s, all of whom were top 50 programs during that era. There was talk about a possible NIT bid until the team inexplicably lost a road game at Gettysburg in mid-February. Instead, Lafayette, who shared the ECC West division championship with the Bison, got the bid. Also, that team would’ve gotten to March if it wasn’t a leap year. |

If my math is right bucknell went roughly 12 minutes without a made field goal from around 4:00 first half to 12:00 second half. Unreal. |

Not rock bottom. Muddy bottom and getting mired deeper. Thank you, Nathan Davis |

This has to be rock bottom, right? It would appear that way, but as pointed out, with Nathan Davis at the helm there can always be a deeper bottom. Fire ND!

Went from 4:14 left in the first half until 12:23 in the second half without a FG. Total time elapsed of 11:51. Wonder if that is some sort of modern record. Fire ND!

Another high point, Screen was 6-8 on foul shots, and had no PF's, and led the Bison with 12 points. |

My goodness am I glad we didn’t go to the game. I couldn’t give our tickets away. I don’t know what to say about the state of Bison basketball. I do feel bad for the players…of course some of this is their responsibility but they were given a bad hand with this HC and staff. Admin simply doesn’t care and it seems that feeling is trickling down to the players. |

Fire ND now. Don’t waste the rest of the seniors season. And yes, things can get absolutely worse. |

And who's the replacement? Paul Harrison? Jay Wright? |

It’s interesting that in his press conference ND on at least three different occasions says that the team “panicked” against Navy. If that is the case, wouldn’t that indicate a lack of preparation? Which would be a coaching issue. He also talks how the team kind of quit when things weren’t going their way. While a coaching change at this point likely wouldn’t improve the performance on the court, it might be a signal to Bison supporters the Bucknell cares about them and the program. The only possible candidate to take over IMO would be Branden McDonald. Harrison is joined at the hip with ND and is responsible for a lot of the problems, so he would not be a solution. If anything, he might even make things worse. And Lamont Moore, who may become a quality coach in time, is too inexperienced. At least McDonald has eight years of D1 experience and also has almost no ties to ND.

Throwing the players under the bus is bush league all the way. Forget about the fans...the players need a signal that someone actually notices and cares in the administration. To allow the coach to get away with statements is a problem. Isn't it the coach's job to stop play and use a time out to refocus? The coach seems too passive during the game...once I even though he fell asleep! |

I alluded to this earlier, that players seem to be frustrated and are sensing a lost season without any confidence…sadly in themselves, but also in the coaching staff. Seniors, particularly Rice, have to be very down about the state of this program. I can’t get on board with quitting, but it has to be difficult keeping your focus and not letting negativity enter your mind. |
