The last ~5-6yrs, no matter how their season ultimately turned out, the Lions have scored an early season win over one of the stronger Ivy teams. This includes being very tough on their traveling partner in a couple of those years.

The Lions have done what they needed to do so far this year in getting themselves a series of homecourt, OOC W's. Things are definitely looking up for the Blue. Though the rating services and the home court would seem to indicate a possible Big Red advantage, it's league play now, both teams are 0-0, and nothing's a given.

Both teams play 9-deep and average in the 80's. The Red, with four seniors in the rotation, has a bit of an experience edge. Best to prepare for an uptempo tester tonight.

Cornell up 20-19 at the 11:00 mark. Nazir Williams got his first start of the season.

Columbia giving Cornell all they can handle.

Big Red up 48-44 at the half. Nazir Williams, showing why he has earned this start, has 14pts.

Lions playing with the confidence winning nine OOC games gives a team.

At this rate, this game will go right to the buzzer. A fitting league opener!

Red up 59-54 at the under 12 media timeout. It's still really anyone's game.

Lions have fewer fouls. Really impressed with the way they have played.

Cornell wins this one 91-79, going 8-8 from the line over the last 3:03. It was no picnic. The Lions, without De La Rosa, made a game of it the whole way.

In his first start of the season, Nazir Williams scores 24pts for the Big Red. Typical for Cornell, nine guys play at least 12 minutes; all nine score at least 4pts, with four in double figures. All hands on deck!

Not looking forward to playing the improved Lions with De La Rosa in Levien Gymnasium in the last game of the regular season.

Pretty sure the 12 point margin at the end was Cornell's largest lead; otherwise this game was played in the mid-single digit range and was entertaining as all get out. Assuming you like offense.

Great to see the "real" Nazir Williams back out there.
