The season turned when they came off of a terrible defensive hosting Columbia. Starting with a loss at Princeton in which they played pretty well, the coaching staff pulled Kloman and Cooley from the starting lineup and inserted AJ and Erold - one shooter, one aggressive and athletic defender. An incredibly bold move to take two guys who had not seen consistent minutes all season that seemed to pay off immediately. It hasn’t been Lilly or Nana who has led them to wins in any of these game since. They’ve both been versions of themselves that we could not have won without, but in each win it’s been somebody else who has stepped up offensively. And usually not just one. The offensive emergence of Kimo and AJ, with some specific contributions from guys like Anya, Cooley, Ndur and even Erold, have been what has put them over the top. Staff deserves a ton of credit for keeping at it and trying something new.

Coach Martin is very much underestimated. He is an excellent coach. I suspect that Brian Earl will get COY, but Martin should be in the conversation. |

I always fear Martin a little bit—he’s clever on both ends of the floor and his guys can stick to the plan. |
