I’d think recruiting is more difficult in this climate for a myriad of reasons. Going into so many households could be an issue.
It hasn't been an issue for the past few months since the NCAA has declared a special "quiet period". Coaches cannot visit recruits at their homes, schools, or at any competitions. Recruits can visit coaches on campus if they choose. Phone calls, texts, etc are still allowed. All AAU tournaments were also cancelled.
For a school like Bucknell, which is not in an urban area and whose selling points are its great facilities and beautiful campus, the pandemic and the associated rules make things difficult. The cancellation of all Bucknell camps hasn't helped either - especially for those sports who land a lot of recruits via the camps.
