Welcome. I can’t wait to read her bio. I’ve been too Iceland a view times and hoops isn’t a sport on the radar there.
True, basketball is far below soccer in terms of fan interest. But it is at least somewhat on the radar. Iceland has a 12-team basketball A League, plus a 9-team B League. Both have a number of Americans and other foreigners. Some may remember that Donald Brown had a very successful season playing in Iceland prior to hurting his knee.
Icelander Jon Axel Gudmundsson was a star recently for some very good Davidson teams. As a junior, he was the A-10 POY. He completed his career as the first D1 player in 27 years to hit career marks of 1,500 points, 700 rebounds, 500 assists, 200 made 3-pointers and 150 steals.
