Yale takes on The Walking Recruiting Violation at the Barclays Center on Sunday. He may bring Iona with him, I'm not sure.

Iona is long and quick and Pitino has been known for his defensive acumen for years. EJ Jarvis took a knee to the head against Albany (poor guy has had some rotten injury luck this year), so he may be out, which won't help.

This doesn't look like a fabulous matchup on paper for the Bulldogs. In addition to Iona outsizing Yale 1-5, they're also fourth in the country in d3FG% and 22nd in block percentage. (What this implies is that they play tight on the perimeter and rely on rim protection a la Penn.) Since Yale has had, ah, something of a problem with being on the receiving end of an all-you-can-eat Spaldingburger buffet, this looks a bit concerning on the offensive end.

Fortunately, Iona has been pretty offensively mediocre. They're 220th in the country in eFG% (Yale also hasn't exactly been great at shooting either, but that's due in large part to how mercurial they've been - some games the basket looks ocean-sized, some games it looks pea-sized), and they rely pretty heavily on ORBs (99th in the country in ORB rate) and free throws (11th in the country in FTR).

Ought to be an interesting one; I think Yale's got a real chance at this one, but it's gonna take a full 40 minutes.
