You may be right, but just because a coach will give a canned answer doesn't mean you shouldn't ask it. For example, he could give his canned answer and a DP sports columnist could refute it.

As for looking like a genius, if Donahue thinks he's smart for sitting two quality players and struggling to beat Lafayette in OT then then the situation is worse that previously imagined.
