No, the schools are not committing suicide because they don't care about making money and don't want to spend money on sports. Their brand is not dependent on sports success. They aren't spending on facilities---that's all donor money. And it's obvious that the Ivies COULD easily outspend just about anyone for players if they wanted to. They. Just. Don't.
