I'm encouraged by the fact she was not on crutches. Time will tell how serious her injury is. AJ did a fine job filling in for her.




I’m not particularly encouraged, although I certainly hope it is something less serious. I have seen dozens of players with torn ACL’s who were able to get along without crutches prior to their surgery. My daughter tore her ACL twice, for example, and never used crutches until after surgery. Whether crutches are needed or not depends mostly on the swelling, and that is a function of several things.

Remember that Steven Tyree actually played most of the season in his final year with a torn ACL that had not been fixed. Lindsey Hollobaugh did the same. And Philip Rivers played in an AFC championship game with a torn ACL. Etc.
