1We had a chance to steal one on the road but fell short over the last 2:30 or so. On the plus side, we were competitive against a decent Dartmouth team. Our backcourt generally played well. Brown, Noland and DLR outplayed the Dartmouth back court. Our 3 point shooting was a high point for us. On the downside, we had no answer to Dartmouth’s huge center, a senior who went for around 40 and was unstoppable. When Bedri was in the game, it was a sure and easy two points. The rest of our front court did very little: after air balling several 3 balls, Murphy settled down and hit some nice shots from beyond the arc. However, Tavroff needs to finish better—he had several nice moves, offset by several misses which he should have made. It is clear that neither Bedri nor Livingston is ready to play big minutes—they are just not strong enough to play in the front court and both of them will need to spend a lot of time hitting the weights. The only two coaching decisions with which I took issue were the following: we almost never doubled the big Dartmouth center, who had a career day as a result, and we did not draw up any effective 3 point plays for the last 1:30 or so.
