THAT is an eye-opener!

I did not realize how slim the margins had been through 30 minutes, although the blowout in Ithaca probably had an outsized impact on the average point differential.

It also undercuts the lack of depth concerns. It turns out the Iron Five (or Six) still has had gas in the tank to close out games. Last night when the Big Red went up +5 with 4 minutes to go I sensed some fatigue, but Coach Henderson’s timeout seemed to give the team the jolt they needed.

A critical feature of the success of this year’s team is that they have not gotten into foul trouble or suffered major injuries. That, and their conditioning and grittiness, has made their short bench a minor factor and positioned the Tigers as a very tough team to beat.
