Harvard's stumbles during the early part of its schedule have given the winner of this game an early leg up on reaching the IL Tournament.
As for this game itself, Choh, Lilly, and Gainey on their home court are a powerful core for the Bears... and a huge challenge for this version of The Big Red's multi-body approach to basketball games. Having Jordan Jones back on the court will be big for Cornell. This game should be worth missing church.

Cornell up 43-25 at the half.
The Big Red played very well. All 12 guys saw court time. Nine scored, led by Manon and Noll with 9pts each. Eight pulled down boards.
The Bears do not have this kind of depth. They must figure something out at halftime or the second half will be more of the same.
Big game. Winner slithers into fourth place as the halfway mark of the Ivy season nears.

Watched the end.
Cornell 4-24 on 3's, Jones and Boothby 0-9 after 5-10 last week.
How did Cornell overcome that?

Cornell was unreal in the first half--up by something like 18 at halftime.
Uptempo, great ball movement.
Brown shut all of that down in the second half--this was a great game of total contrasts.

All the credit in the world to the Bears, who fought back from an 18pt halftime deficit to tie this game at 65 and, again, at 72. Brown's impressive increase in defensive intensity left Cornell flustered and out of kilter every trip up the floor during the last 15min.
Cornell was almost as dreadful in the second half as they were great in the first half.
Yet, in the end, the Big Red wins the rebounding battle and rides 95% FT shooting, plus a huge clutch last-second putback by Kobe Dickson, to a 74-72 W at the Pizz.
In the big picture of this weekend's Ivy action, it is of note that all four road teams took home victories. With attendance limitations still in effect, the on-court results say that, for the moment, the traditional home court advantage does not exist. Let's see what February brings, as the likelihood rises that temporary Covid-19 attendance restrictions will be loosened.

Cornell got very, very stagnant on offense in the second half. After running out to a big lead, they started sitting on the ball in the half court, and worse than that, they almost entirely stopped cutting. Amazing how the energy shifted. Not sure if they thought they had a big enough lead to just eat clock, or if Brown’s pressure was wearing on them getting up the court, forcing them to kind of catch their breath once they got it across. But in the first half it looked like Cornell was making Brown uncomfortable by playing fast, and then in the second it completely reversed.
In the four games this weekend, all eight teams looked dominant in stretches. Of course, all eight also played stretches where they looked like they could lose to anyone. Fun weekend overall.
