It appears as though this year's Philadelphia Big 5 Classic will feature a DOUBLEHEADER on Saturday, December 3rd, featuring Penn, Temple, LaSalle and Drexel. The Villanova-St. Joseph's single game is scheduled for February 2006. Here's the link . I'm guessing that game one will be LaSalle vs. Drexel, followed by Penn vs. Temple. Temple is not likely to play an A-10 opponent (LaSalle) the first week in December and the Owls usually don't play Drexel. Also, I wouldn't expect the Classic to feature a Penn-LaSalle match-up two consecutive years.

December 3 is the date of the Army vs. Navy football game. The last I heard, the Penn vs. Navy basketball game will be played on Friday December 2, with a slighty earlier than normal starting time, to account for the fact that we will be playing Temple less than 24 hours later.

Should make for an interesting atmosphere, to say the least.

Well hopefully we'll get a full house with some Navy fans that are in for the football game.

....no way. 4000 at most for Navy, unless David Robinson is coming back.

I'd have to agree. On December 3, 1999, the (Friday) night before the Army-Navy game, Army came to the Palestra and the attendance was only 3,433. I cannot imagine a much different figure this year. (We played Penn State the next day and drew 6,356.)
