I don't understand why this is on an Ivy BB site. And, it's not a comment or breaking news item.

I'm sorry. I assumed that many Ivy baskeball fans have some interest in college basketball beyond a narrow, literal interpretation of the title of the board. It's not as if I were proposing the best bus route from Chattanooga to Knoxville or laughing about country music and bassfishing being popular at Wofford. In the future, I will post any comments about the outside basketball world on the Princeton or Penn boards where fans expect their teams to compete with major conference teams.

Why not post scores of games in the whole country. The point is that this board is dedicated to the Ivies. Those interested in other teams' results have ample opportunities to get them.

I look at the national scores on a daily basis but I would not have realized the overall performance of the SEC this past weekend without Brian's post.

This is not about posting national scores on a regular basis. A 1-10 weekend by the SEC is possibly unprecedented. Losing to SoCon teams Chattanooga and Wofford, and to weak programs such as Miami, Clemson, and FSU is embarrassing. With few NCAA-worthy teams in the SEC, Big 10, and PAC 10, there is a chance for more mid-majors to be in play for at-large bids.

Can't understand why you didn't spot the SEC results. Most papers, at least, and online scoreboards separate the daily results by section of the country.
But, my primary point is that this is a board devoted to the Ivies. Try http://www.secsports.com/index.php?url_channel_id=4

Get over it. Anything notable regarding college basketball has always been welcome on the ivy basketball board. If a post is entitled "SECs' Weekend" and you don't care about the SEC's weekend, please ignore it.

Will do. Won't lose sleep over it. Didn't know I could ignore a post with the subject SEC in it. Learn something (almost) every day.
Of course, it does take up space, a place in which an Ivy-oriented post could have been. I hope others don't follow with other irrelevant notes.

I had not realized this either... and I appreciate Brian's post to bring it to my attention. While it does not have a direct affect on the Ivy League, it could definitely help multiple Mid-Major teams down the road.
Thanks Brian -Mike

Internetter....what this Board is NOT about is flaming....and that is exactly what you are doing here. If you really wanted to suggest to Brian that you aren't interested in the amazing SEC performance over the weekend, you would have sent him a private message. You simply wanted for everyone to see how clever you are and watch you scold Brian for going off message---a classic flame.

You missed my main point. That's fine but don't accuse me of what I didn't do. 'kay? I didn't criticize Brian; just wondered (see my first) why SEC results are on an Ivy page, without even a comment, just scores. Over and out...you, too.

We're not auditioning for new moderators at this time.
Brian's post was totally fine, as it concerns a major conference showing weakness against non-majors.

Internetter,
I think you might feel a little lonely on this one. I wouldn't take this too much to heart, but I believe most would find B. Martin's post to be of interest to the IB board, and I think that makes it relevant. It is major conference weekends like this that give us hope for two NCAA selections.

Laugh at country country music at your peril, or at least refrain from traveling west of the Mississippi. My wife used to laugh, now she looks forward to excuses to listen while driving so I gave her a few CDs. Me, I just smile and look at the pictures of Faith Hill. In the negotiating world, this is sometimes called "learning when to say yes."
FYI, I hear bassfishing is a varsity club sport at Wofford, and PU is considering adding it for Sears Cup points. And yes, I'll still be damn proud of it.
