Pete Hutchins was promoted to Associate Head Coach after his third year at Dartmouth with Coach McLaughlin.
https://dartmouthsports.com/news/2019/3/19/mbk-hu t...
Also, Hoop Dirt confirmed that program has parted ways with assistant coach John Andrzejek after one year.
https://hoopdirt.com/daily-dirt-3-28-19/
Andrzejek he was an assistant at Johns Hopkins in 2017-2018 season as an assistant coach at Johns Hopkins. In 2016-2017, he was director of basketball operations at the University of San Francisco under former Columbia head coach Kyle Smith. Between 2014-2016, he was the director of basketball operations at Columbia. Between 2012-2014, he was Columbia's assistant director of basketball operations and team manager.
The wording at the Hoop Dirt post makes it hard to know if Andrzejek left or the school asked him to leave. Either way, it is possible that he returns to work with Kyle Smith at WSU.

And another shoe dropping...or more like someone got the boot. I was under the impression that this coach was the architect of this years offense?
Although we needed defense to match, this years offense was top of the league. I wonder if we're going back to the earlier years style?

I sure hope the volunteer assistant wasn't the architect of the offense. I'm sure he knows basketball, but if Mac is relying on his volunteer to have that big of a role in the x's and o's, that seems a bit odd.
Congrats to Pete on the promotion I guess - but why exactly are we promoting people after a 2 win Ivy season? Maybe he had another job on the table, but would letting him leave and hiring an experienced guy in that role be the worst thing in the world?
Just my 2 cents...Odd offseason moves.

You may be on to something about the possibility of another job. For all intents and purposes Pete was the top assistant. Wasn't he the only one left after last year's coaching exodus?

Odd but really. We didn't play this style in the first two years. All the coaches leave except McLaughlin and Hutchins. We bring in a stats guy from Columbia and we're now shooting 3s like nobody's business. It's harder for me to believe we came up with that strategy in our own. We'll see what next year's offense will be. I'm guessing we'll give Knight as many touches as he can take before he's exhausted with no Jackson to give him a blow.

John Andrzejek has been hired by Kyle Smith at Washington State. He is the Director of Analytics, as well as an assistant coach. It is not official, but Smith told this to Jon Rothstein on his College Hoops Today podcast.

Not surprised in the least. It’ll be interesting to see what offense we run next year. Who knows what happened that caused his departure? That this guy was good enough to be the Director of Analytics in the Pac12 says a lot about what we lost.
“With Andrzejek on staff, Dartmouth improved by 81 spots in the Pomeroy rankings this past season.â€

To be fair to Mr. Hutchins, it was just over 6 weeks since he was announced as the team's associate head coach.
At George Mason, he will again work for Dave Paulsen. In 2006-2007, Hutchins was an assistant for Paulsen at Williams.

- David McLaughlin – Head Coach, Dartmouth College
"Pete is an incredibly talented coach, and even better person. He is intrinsically motivated, a relationship builder, and a terrific teacher of the game. He will help to bring in top quality student-athletes through his drive and creativity in the recruiting process. Coach Paulsen and George Mason are getting one of the top guys around." -

Something isn't right with our program with so much turnover/defection. We're supposed to be Big Green Building... Is there anyone left from the original staff besides the head coach???????? SMDH.

I don't think he is the last to go this summer. I wouldn't be surprised if there is one more staff member headed elsewhere. 👀

Troubled by the latest departure. Here's Dartmouth's new hire/replacement:
Will Thoni

Heading into a make or break year for Coach McLaughlin, there's not a lot of in-game coaching experience on the staff right now.

Is it do or die for the coach you think? It's hard to get excited next year with all the coaching turnover since McLaughlin came on board. Plus the declining league wins year over year. Hope he hasn't lost the locker room. Guys get attached to assistant coaches especially if the head coach is not that close to his players. Some guys like to put distance between them and players. It happens.

In his three seasons, he lost the best player Dartmouth has had in a generation; lost all of his assistant coaches; and failed to sniff the Ivy tournament (which half the teams in the league make).
Dartmouth doesn't seem to care about attendance, but there are sometimes better crowds at Hanover High School games these days.
If the Big Green don't qualify for the league tourney next year, it should definitely be his last.

Koclanes hasn't qualified yet either, and she is still at Dartmouth.

I thought she had a 4th place finish, though that may have been before the tournament existed.
But it isn't just the men's second-tier finishes. Goodness knows that's a feature not a bug at Dartmouth.
The thing that's different is the churn in the program. Boudreaux, all of the original assistants, Jackson. Throw Guilien Smith in there if you want.
I'm sure there are explanations for every one of the departures. But from the outside, that does not look like a stable situation, and that impacts recruiting (and hope for the future).

Again, those are not big losses. Every team has guys leave the team for whatever reason every year.
IMHO, you really sound like you're reaching by bringing them up.

We're Dartmouth... Every loss is a big loss. When you're at the bottom of the league you can't afford losing guys. There are only a couple of "additions by subtraction" that will improve this program. Remember "A Fish Rots From the Head Down", and our league record this year stank. 💩
