Bison avenged their loss at Loyola nicely with a 66-42 win. It was 30-12 at the half 54-25 at the end of 3. Mack and AJ sat the whole 4th quarter. Colgate won easily at Navy to stay 1 game back.

Bison head to American today with a 2 game lead in the PL standings. AU is not the team they've been in past years, but we've also lost our last two road games. Need to be ready for this one.

The 2 game lead comes courtesy of Boston, beating Colgate in Hamilton on Wednesday. BU, Colgate, and Lafayette (!) are now tied for 2nd at 8-4. Lehigh and HC are tied at 7-5. Our last 5 games are against those 5 teams. The last 3 games are against the teams tied for 2nd, with Colgate and Lafayette on the road. Every game is like a playoff game now.

Nice win today. Ceppi came up big in Brugler’s absence. Anyone know why she was out?

The flu bug is going around campus, so that's my guess. Krsul was not at the game Wednesday and only played a few minutes today. Good to get this win playing short handed. They'll need Brugler and some others to stop Lauren Manis on Wednesday. HC got a good win today at Lafayette.

The top 6 teams play each other tomorrow - HC @ Bucknell, Colgate @ Lehigh, Lafayette @ Boston. Best case scenario would be a win over HC and losses for Colgate & Boston. That would put us 3 games up on the field (4 on HC) with 4 games to play. Worst case is the opposite.

HC has beaten Lehigh & Lafayette their last two games and will not be a pushover. We will need our interior players at full strength to deal with Manis. Walls kept up in the game up there in the 1st half before she injured her knee. Hopefully, Brugler and Krsul are healthy again and no one else has gotten sick. The roster is thin to begin with.

Nice win tonight. I continue to be impressed with Taylor O’Brien’s rebounding. She led the team with 11. Not bad for a guard.

Yes, she is a very good Rebounder. It helps to be a guard who high-jumped 5’8” while still in high school.

Holy Cross stayed close until the 2nd half when Bucknell only allowed them 9 points in the 3rd quarter. From there the offense pounded away to a nice victory.

Coach said it was perhaps not the smoothest game, not their best game, but overall a good one. Lehigh got pounded tonight, so let's see how they come to play this Saturday?

I just stumbled onto the site linked below. It has some very useful weekly articles on PL women's basketball. Not sure if anyone has linked it before.

Excellent article. Thanks for posting it. Colgate and Boston are both playing well. We're going to have to be at our best to get through this stretch and hang on to 1st.

Bison got another good win today over Lehigh to move to 20-6, 13-2. Lehigh made a late run after Bucknell went up 18, but we did enough down the stretch. Lehigh and HC both fall to 8-7 after being picked 1-2 in preseason. Boston came back from 16 down in the 4th, but lost by 1 at AU. They are now 3 down with 3 to play. Colgate won at HC to stay 2 games back heading into Wednesday's showdown with the Bison in Hamilton.

Ellie Mack scored her 1000th point in only her 3rd season. It's a shame she can't come back for a 5th year.

Good teams find a way to win when it isn’t all clicking, and that was the case today. Give Lehigh some of the credit for that, as I thought their defense was good for much of the game. These grind it out wins can be confidence builders, and I hope that’s the case. Next week is huge.

I see that yesterday‘s game drew more than 1000 people to Sojka, one of the best attendances the women have ever had other than the education day crowds. I think it is possible that we may see games in the next couple of years where the women outdraw the men.

Since Aaron Roussel took over, and continuing through this year, the women’s team has been extremely fan friendly. They stay on the court after games to talk to friends and any fan who wants to greet them - especially kids. So do the coaches. And they appreciate the fans who turn out for road games. All of that is the opposite of the attitude of the men’s staff, who generally treat their fans as if they have some sort of contagious disease. The coaches give the impression that they would be just as happy if they played in front of a crowd of 15 people - and if not one fan supported them on the road. (Note: I don’t put John Griffin in that category, but unfortunately he is gone.)

Agree about the men’s coaches and team. Of course, it is often considered blasphemous to speak that way. I’ve only been to a few women’s games the last two seasons but they are a joy to watch.

Agree, Phillie. I go to more women’s games than men’s games. They are definitely more fun to watch.

Boston's defense gave us fits again, but the Bison did enough at the end to hang on for a 2 point win. Colgate also lost at Army, so remains tied with BU for 2nd. One more regular season game at Lafayette Wednesday.

Great game today for Autumn Ceppi, who got a start with Tessa Brugler out with the flu. Ceppi got 13 rebounds, 10 of them in the second half, to give the Bison enough extra possessions to come out on top. At times it appeared they were playing five versus eight. The reffing in most women’s games at this level is atrocious at best.

She had 6 offensive rebounds, which definitely helped keep us in it.

Talk about a game of swings. Can’t remember many games with so many big ones back and forth. Great win by a gritty group of women who never quit. Quite a year when you consider that we graduated three thousand-point scorers, lost our starting point guard early in the conference season, and still clinched the regular season championship with two games to go. I guess you can tell that I really like this team.

Bison wrap up the regular season tonight at Lafayette. Most of the playoff seedings are set, but Lafayette could drop to 5th with a loss and a HC win. Bucknell is up to #20 in the mid-major poll, #51 in RPI. ESPN has them as a 14 seed in the NCAA, which seems too low. Would be great to get a 12 again. But they have to get there first. It was great that they got a standing ovation at halftime of the men's game last night.
