Yale beat Vermont today by double digits. Canisius did the same to Mercer.

And Fairfield beat Texas A&M on a neutral court.

Newer news. PSU beat Wake Forest 74-52 last night. PSU now ranked #23 in the nation by Pomeroy. They will have a huge test Saturday when they take on undefeated Ohio State on the road. OSU incredibly has already beaten both Villanova and UNC by 25 points each.

Also Fairfield the other day beat Texas A&M by five points. And Yale beat Vermont by 13 points and Albany by 9 points during the past week. Yale now up to #87 in the Pomeroy ratings.

PSU takes down #4 Maryland 76-68. PSU will move into the Pomeroy top 20.

BRW, was this an allowable court storming?

I can't speak for BRW, but when an unranked basketball team with virtually no basketball history defeats the #4 team in the country, why not? It's college. Have some fun.
New season, new team, new dream . . .

I asked the question of BRW since he may be the go-to guy on the subject when Seth Davis is not available. I am fine with it in this case.

Penn State probably should be in the top 25. They clearly have a better resume than teams like Colorado.

BRW, was this an allowable court storming?

On the pro-rush side, it's an unranked team taking down #4.

On the other side of the ledger, Vegas had Penn State as a 2-point favorite. And I'm hesitant to endorse rushing the court against a league opponent in other than the championship game.

All in all, I can't vigorously condemn it, but I wasn't wild about it.

At least it's a bit more acceptable than if PSU students stormed the field after a football win over Maryland!

I'm for storming the court anytime the Terps are on the losing end!

Great win for Nova today. Beating Kansas by one point is, well, special.

It was a very exciting game. Always fun to see Bill Self lose. Even better when it is Bucknell or Nova! The last 2 minutes was a nail-biter.

Dane Fischer still going strong at Bill & Mary. They beat a not so good UNCW last night to go 4-0 in the CAA and 12-5 overall. They also routed Hofstra in Hempstead by 27. Very surprising given all of the turnover. Nathan Knight's the real deal, though.

Fairly big conference game with 5-0 CoC on Saturday afternoon in Williamsburg.

Great video. The College GameDay crew is on the Kansas campus talking about the ugly brawl at the end of the Kansas-Kansas State game the other day. LaPhonso Ellis can be seen throughout the video prominently wearing a Bucknell sweatshirt with "Bucknell" in large letters and a big orange Bison. Kansas fans likely are not happy. Maybe some Bison fan can give him a classic t-shirt with a Kansas reference for his next appearance.

Bryson finally got the necessary government approval and is now, finally, an assistant coach for GMU.

You have to watch out for those Canadian basketball coaches.

Approval not as easy as one might think. I believe you need to somehow show that there are not enough qualified U.S. workers available for the job you are filling. Not sure how you do that with a basketball coach.

Phil Mushnick today pointed out the geographical makeup of the University of Maine roster:

- Two from Serbia
- One from Ukraine
- One from Quebec
- One from Ontario
- One from Sweden
- One from Denmark
- One from Turkey
- One from Latvia
- One from England
- One from Lebanon
- One from Maine

Amazing. All of that to produce a 7-13 record in a weak league.

Amazingly they have had 15 transfers over the past 3.5 years as well.
