from an article on LWA. tyrone nash is looking at BEast and ACC schools. a teammate, Joshua Marshall, mentions the Bison as an option.

Nash, a 6-8, 215-pound senior from Rosedale, Queens, has averaged 18 points, 15 rebounds and four blocked shots while playing power forward and center. He's considering Notre Dame, Virginia, St. John's, Providence and Marquette.

Marshall, a 6-5, 185-pound senior from Farmingdale, has averaged 19 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks alternating with Nash inside. He's looking at NYU, St. Francis (Pa.), Bucknell and Central Connecticut.

Ken - what's LWA?

By the way - this seems in conflict with a Newsday report from last month about Marshall going to NYU... Although, things change.

LWA = Lawrence Woodmere Academy

the article i pulled from was in today's Newsday. don't know if this means he has re-opened other options or not. his performance seems to have really taken off during this season, maybe he is reassessing his ability to contribute at the D1 level.

In the early signing period, he had no offers from high majors and was considering prep school to improve his chances with a Big East school. Had he committed in October, BU was strongly in the running since only other mid-majors had offered.

Unfortunately, as you mentioned, his game has taken off and he got offers from St Johns and Providence, and Notre Dame was also looking at him. His academics are good and I guess our only slim hope is that he might choose the combination of academics and a good hoops team that Bucknell can offer. BTW, I believe he goes to the same H.S. as Tarik V-M.

I remember seeing he (Nash) knows Donald Brown from playing AAU ball, too. Not that it replaces playing in the Big East (although Bucknell does have more Big East wins than the Irish this year)...
