We will be unbeaten this fall. I guarantee it!

I won't take that bet. The sad thing is that this year's team looked to be one of the best ones of the past 20 years. Returned 20 starters, including the QB, from a team that was 3-3 in the PL. Plus a better head coach than Susan.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm not particularly disappointed that the Army game was called off.

Played them VERY tough last time and it’s a lovely day out. Just a short jaunt over the Bear Mtn Bridge for me. Oh well. There’s always next time...maybe

Yes, could have won that game.

I was just referencing how Army has looked the last two weeks. Inferior opponents, but Army has looked very impressive. We'll see when BYUcomes in this week.

I am sure that’s the Bucknell athletic department is disappointed. The guarantee for that game, prior to Covid, probably was $300,000.

It looks like Bucknell's Defensive Coordinator Ryan Manalac is leaving to take the Linebackers coach position at the University of Pittsburgh.

That's too bad. I think he did a good job last year.

PL released the schedule for the spring mini-season:

3/13 Fordham (home)
3/20 Lafayette (home)
3/27 @ Lehigh
4/3 @ Holy Cross
4/10 Makeup Date
4/17 PL Championship

League is divided into two Divisions: South (Bucknell, Lafayette, Lehigh) and North (Colgate, Fordham, Holy Cross). Bison don't play Colgate, a middle-of-the-pack team, but have to take the 6 hour one-way bus ride to Worcester. Meanwhile Lafayette, the closest of the South teams to Worcester, avoids that bus ride.

A few of the Bison seniors are going to be playing for someone else this fall, using their 5th year of eligibility. Don't know if their future teams will allow them to play for the Bison.

Ask the players. They apparently would much rather play four or five games than none.

While we're gloomy, I'll throw in that the Bucknell-Fordham football this weekend has been postponed by mutual agreement of the teams, which felt the disruptions of late have left them ill-prepared to play.

Bucknell was late putting up an article about this. It was postponed more than a week ago. There is an off-week on the schedule the week before the PL championship game. Plus teams may play make up games on championship week if they don't make that game, so there is a good chance they will make up that game.

With Bucknell having lost over two weeks of practice due to the covid shutdown, it is likely a very good decision.

The Patriot League has rearranged the football schedule "to prioritize divisional games and determine North and South Division champions."

This weekend's game at pre-season favorite Holy Cross has been cancelled. If we beat Lehigh Saturday, we clinch a championship appearance, per Bucknell's Lehigh preview article.

APR 3 at Lehigh (noon ESPN+)

APR 10 vs Fordham (1pm ESPN+)

APR 17 League Championship Game (2pm CBS Sports)

Where's the league championship game if it ends up with two 3-0 teams?

I don’t think there’s any rule in place. They might toss a coin. Or maybe hold it at West Point, which is about halfway in between and would be able to accommodate a lot of spectators under New York State rules.

Thinking maybe a high school field so they can limit spectators more easily.
