Edmonds is a 6-2 CG from Midlothian VA, a suburb of Richmond. Had reported offers from VCU, ODU, Towson, Holy Cross, Navy, LC, Winthrop, MSM, and Hampton according to Verbal Commits. Another VA recruiting site says he also had offers from JMU and Longwood.
Note that the VCU, ODU, and a couple others were from a few years ago.

Ranked 30th in VA by PrepHoops. Reportedly has a 4.4 weighted GPA.
Here's two videos. Looks quick and athletic. Doesn't appear to have a traditional jump shot.

He and Motta both appear to have low release shots. Doesn’t mean they won’t be effective. Welcome to all new commits!

Phillie, I was thinking the same thing about Motta. I hope that he is quick enough to get off his shot against faster competition.

I just wateched the Game Video. Elvin looks VERY quick and strong. I LOVE how he finishes at the rim. He certainly is not a shy shooter.

Edmonds' Hopewell team just started playing games last week. Thus far one close win over a good Petersburg team and two easy wins. In the most recent game - a 73-39 road win - he had 27 pts, 5 boards, 5 assists, and 5 steals. Generally playing SG although he does handle the ball a fair amount. In their 79-67 win over Petersburg, Edmonds had 21 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals.
Long highlight video of their most recent game: (Edmonds is #2.)

Edmonds' Hopewell team got a blowout win, with Edmonds getting 26 points, 5 assists, and 6 steals. Hopewell is now 4-0.
Article, which helps explain why his steal totals have been so high:

I never posted his stats from their first win of the year. In that game, Edmonds had 29 points, 4 assists, and 8 steals.

Edmonds had 30 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists in a 72-62 win over rival Petersburg (8-2) to win their regional title. His threes weren't falling tonight, but he found a way to score 21 in the second half.

"Hopewell High senior Elvin Edmonds IV was named the Class 3, Region A boys basketball player of the year on Monday. His sister, Alexis, a sophomore, was named the Region A girls player of the year. And their father, Elvin III, was named the Region A boys coach of the year."

Further, Edmonds' Mom is the coach of Hopewell's girls team and was the COY for the region the two previous years. His older sister currently plays for Navy.
