Nate is reportedly signing with Kyiv-Basket of the Ukranian Superleague. Kyiv = Kiev, which is one of the ten largest cities in Europe.
Although the Ukranian league is mediocre, two of its teams - including Kyiv-Basket - are ranked among the top 64 in Europe. Kyiv is #56. Kyiv-Basket had advanced to the quarter-finals of the Europe Cup back in March when that competition was cancelled.

I think the most important part is Nate continuing his career. Once he’s playing on the continent, the bigger clubs will gobble him up if they like what the see.
Dude has come along way from Elk County!

You’re both right. He was born in Elk County and went to high school in Cameron County. 😀

Elk County, with a population of almost 30,000, is a highly populated area as compared to Cameron County's 4492,

Nate, good luck in the Ukraine. Please continue to make us proud!
BTW, we have a family friend whose daughter studied ballet in Kiev for several years. She said that it was so cold that there would be ice on the inside of her apartment windows. So, bring lots of warm clothes.

Nate ended up not going to the Ukraine and will instead play in Russia's top league for Nizhny Novgorod. That city, which was renamed Gorky during the time of the Communist dictatorship, is a few hours east of Moscow on the Volga. During that era, it was a main center for military research and production, and thus foreigners were banned. Population is around 1.3 million.

I imagine that this is a good move for Nate. Good luck!
BTW, according to Google Maps, it is about a 7 hour drive from Nizhny Novgorod to Moscow. It looks pretty isolated to me.

Isolated but in a metro area of 2.1 million people. It was one of the host cities for the last World Cup of soccer.
It is 263 miles from Moscow btw.

He signed an Exhibit-10 contract. Whatever that means.

It's a one yr deal at the league minimum with an optional bonus if the player doesn't make it in camp but stays with the organization's G league team

Here is an article from last summer on what an Exhibit 10 contract is:
https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2019/07/hoops-rumors- g...
Brooklyn’s G league team is the Long Island Nets, who played in Nassau coliseum last year. Where they will end up this year is unclear, as the Nassau coliseum has been closed indefinitely as they try to find a new owner. That also affects the Islanders, who were supposed to play in the Coliseum this season.

It is still unclear to me how much Nate's base salary will be. Is it the NBA minimum which is over $800k, or is it the G League minimum which is TBD?

It's the NBA minimum only if he makes the team. Given that the Nets will have at least 15 experienced NBA players in camp - likely more - his chances of making the NBA team are very low.
The only thing that could raise the probability above zero would be a Nets' trade for James Harden, with them giving up four players. Even then, it would be very unlikely since the Nets would be one of the league's top teams, with three of the league's top players, and could thus attract veteran free agents to play for the veterans' minimum (which is over $2 million).

So, is he being paid the league minimum, which is over $800k, while in camp? Also, if he ends up in the G-League, does he have the option of going to Europe instead?

1. Definitely not getting a league minimum. Players on his kind of deal receive a negotiated amount for training camp that I think can range from $0 to $50,000 - plus room and board.
2. He is under no obligation to report to the G League if he has a normal contract. However if he does, he may receive a bonus.

Exhibit-10 deals are one-year contracts for the league minimum salary. The deals come with an optional bonus of up to $50,000 if the player doesn't make it in camp but is assigned to the team's G-League affiliate.
According to everywhere I've looked it is in fact at the league minimum
