Shaping up to be a good year not to watch in person. Except, why will next year be any different? While possible, it is hard to imagine anything crazy happening this year to suddenly begin winning games. Meeks is good but he’s not Superman.

If it were up to me, I would start Screen, Latimer, and Rhodes today. They were at least playing with some energy.

The team has shown a lot of deficiencies so far, but in my opinion the worst are a lack of leadership and mental and physical toughness.

Yes, there's a concerning lack of communication between teammates, most notably during dead-ball moments on the floor, such as after fouls are called.

As far as I am concerned I have no idea why Newman started over Screen yesterday. Screen has simply been the most dominant Bison on the floor when he is in. This team isn’t going anywhere, so give Screen the chance to develop in the actual fire, and let Newman back him up when he has foul problems. Btw, I do not think Screen would have missed all of those layups that Newman did yesterday, but my opinion re: the two of them is not anti Newman, it is pro Screen. He is the future in the middle. Make him the man right now and stick with it.

I agree. I don't know how you go 2-6 when all your shots are within 2 feet of the basket. And Screen is a better FT shooter. Paul has struggled with shooting for four years and it's not getting any better.

This team just doesn’t look like a team. There is just a different feel this year than any other, beyond just not playing well. Not being there in person to watch player interaction on the bench, during timeouts, communication and body language on the court...it’s hard to tell if there is leadership anywhere on the team. Hard to tell how competitive they want to be.

Phillie, I’m not poking the bear but how do they look any different than last year? Last year was the same mess. A bunch of individuals running around with no leadership or focus. Lots of panic 3’s, no patience or movement without the ball on offense, and defensively atrocious. That was last season.

Certainly there are a lot of those similarities. Maybe it just looks worse on TV. At least in person last year I would get a glimpse every now and then that somebody cared.

All I know is the guy who “can’t shoot” is single handedly keeping us in a game that everyone looks like they quit playing 30 minutes ago. Maybe Rice has said “F$&@ it” I’ll just do all I can?

To his credit, Newman looked like a different player in the 1st half.

I can’t see this team winning more than 2 games. The over/under would be 1.5 if I were setting odds.

Agreed. Played with touch yet aggressively. Displayed more composure. Then he stopped.

I can’t see us stopping Lafayette. Yesterday Laf didn’t shoot exceptionally well, yet we still got blown out. Today, Laf is shooting better and we are on the verge of getting blown out.

Funk is not an asset at the point. He pulls the trigger wildly.

Lafayette may be shooting lights out in this sample but we can’t play defense worth a lick in the full data set. Dating back to last year. Meanwhile our head coach paces while no doubt planning to change nothing in his approach to the next game.

And there was no bad officiating this game but nothing that would have changed the outcome.

One positive is that things are opening up offensively now that we’re down by 20.

I don’t know what game you’re watching...but we have played hard and fought and battled. Lafayette is pretty good!
