There are now a few offers out there for 2022 and 2023. Thus far the staff is aiming high. Latest offer is to 5-8 PG Corynne Hauser from Rochester PA, a small HS northwest of Pittsburgh on the Ohio. As a soph last spring, she made 2nd team all-state in Class 1A (small schools). Has offers from Duquesne, Fordham, St. Joes, Akron, Kent State, American, Navy, Iona, RMU, Youngstown State, and Kennesaw. Looks like a player who would be a multi-year starter at PG.

Previous 2022 offer: . Journey Thompson, a 6-2 junior forward from a strong Peters Township program, just south of Pittsburgh. Averaged 16 ppg and 11 rpg as a soph against good competition. Already has offers from Pitt, St. John's, Duquesne, Boston U, Indiana State, Charlotte, UMass, Western Michigan, Kent State, Robert Morris, Quinnipiac, UNCW, Penn, Cleveland State, Oakland, Stony Brook, FIU, Wofford, and maybe others.

Also, Ciera Toomey, a 6-3 sophomore forward from Dunmore (just north of Scranton). She averaged 16.5 ppg and made 3rd team All-State 3A as a freshman. She hit 51% on threes, although it is unclear how many she took. Also one of the better golfers in the state. Offers from PSU, Ohio State, St. John's, BC, Rider, Villanova, and maybe others.

She looks like she might be an Ellie Mack type of player. Certainly one who would be a very good player to land - but who might be getting out of reach.

I remember watching an interview with Dickie V years ago. He said when he arrived at Rutgers as an assistant he learned that they were competing against schools like Lafayette for recruits. He convinced the HC to aim higher, with considerable success. You never make the shots you don’t take, so I’m all in on aiming high. We have a great school, great facility and great program to sell, so why not?

Agree 100%. And it keeps the coaching pipeline going by having an aggressive program focused on excellence that is desirable for ambitious coaches.

The Bison just offered Lauren Trumpy, a 6-3 center for Trinity HS in Camp Hill (PA). Was 3rd team all-state, Class 3A, this season. She has offers from Northwestern, Lafayette, Monmouth, Manhattan, Merrimack, Radford, and Hawaii (!).

Her grandfather is Bob Trumpy, former NFL TE and long-time NFL announcer.

I was wondering where we were on this one when I saw that she had offers from Northwestern and Lafayette a week or so ago on PennLive.com.

Bison women coaches continue to be proactive, with another offer to a player just finishing her sophomore year: Eva DeChent, a 5-11 CG from Putnam Valley, an hour north of NYC.

DeChent has offers from Seton Hall, Marist, Fairfield, LaSalle, Vermont, UMass, Manhattan, Wagner, and FDU.

Since I posted this, Toomey has definitely gotten out of reach. In addition to the offers listed above, some of her more recent ones include:

January: Pitt
February: West Virginia
May: Michigan, Northwestern, Vandy
June: Maryland, NC State, VA Tech, UNC
July: UConn, Baylor, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Wisconsin

Don't know if she will take the one from Auriemma (UConn), since it will be very hard to get playing time, but that is certainly the pinnacle. Very few players can say they got a UConn offer. The one from Vandy (Shea Ralph) might be attractive. Likely playing time, up-and-coming coach, and good academics.

Glad to see the coaching staff is aiming high. We should be able to out-recruit the rest of the PL.

I’m sure you’re right, but no harm in trying. Woodruff is from the northern tier, coached up there, and probably has some useful relationships.

Matthews just committed to the Bison. She was 1st team All Region in Class 6A (largest schools) this past season. Also MVP for her region. Comes from a suburb of Houston. (See new thread about her commitment.)

Blake is the second 2022 commitment, along with Emma Theodorsson

5’ 5” would be at the small end for a Division I PG. I would assume she’s fast and has a great handle.

Grace Klag, a 6=2 post player from NJ (Westfield HS) committed to the Bison on Friday afternoon. Klag has apparently had a good AAU season but missed the past two HS seasons with knee injuries - so this is a bet on her upside.

https://twitter.com/GraceKlag/status/1441 493865345...

Not sure of her scholarship situation due to info in the following post.

Sullivan took an official visit to Bucknell this past weekend. In addition to the offers listed above, she has also picked up one from Loyola (IL).

The Bison presumably have three scholarships to use this year. With the addition of Grace Klag, that would make three if she is receiving an athletic scholarship. But in that case, would they have followed through on an official visit for Sullivan? Often a player is not allowed to accept a scholarship offer prior to a weekend when a player at the same position is making an official visit. Is the staff anticipating another available scholarship?
