First reported offer to a 2022 player: Drew Kania, a 6-8 205 lb forward from Gill St. Bernard's in NJ, the alma mater of Dom Hoffman. Kania has offers from Hofstra, Fairfield, and FDU. Also is receiving interest from multiple Ivy's, including Princeton.
Although Dom is not allowed to recruit in his role as MOBO, his connection to GSB and its long-time coach, Mergin Sina, who also coached Dom, may help.

Three more offers:
1. Andrew Ball, a 6-8 wing from Shawnee HS (NJ), a suburb of Philly. This is his first offer.
2. Nick Martinelli, a 6-7 SF from a suburb of Chicago. Also has an offer from St. Thomas (MN), which is transitioning to D1.
3. Brady Muller, a 6-4 SG from Blair Academy (NJ). This is his first offer.
The latter two are apparently Joe Meehan recruits.

Not worth a speculative thread on this one, but I noticed Josh Oduro, a 6-9 soph PF/C is transferring out of GMU. He is from northern VA and was recruited by the Bison out of HS. He listed Bucknell among his top six during the recruiting process.
He averaged 19-25 mpg this year and is probably looking for something similar to the level of the A-10. I'd expect to see Dane Fischer actively involved.

Just consolidating this list. No new offers. Hope I'm wrong, but I don't have much confidence in this staff's recruiting ability.
- Donovan Atwell, a 6-5 SG from NC (Davidson Day School). Also has an offer July 2020 from Winthrop
- Andrew Ball, a 6-8 wing from Shawnee HS (NJ), a suburb of Philly. Has no other offers.
- Drew Kania, 6-8 205 lb Forward from NJ (Gill St. Bernard’s). Has offers from Hofstra, Fairfield, FDU.
- Nick Martinelli, a 6-7 SF from a suburb of Chicago. Also has an offer from St. Thomas (MN), which is transitioning to D1.
- Brady Muller, a 6-4 SG from NJ (Blair Academy). COMMITTED TO BUCKNELL MARCH 2021. No other offers.
- Noah Ross, 6-5 SG from NC. Has offers from Ohio, Charlotte, Rice, Elon, FIU, Hofstra, EKU.
- Kyle Squires, 6-7 180 lb SF who plays for prep powerhouse Northfield Mount Hermon. He also has an offer from Bryant. (Note: Bryant currently has 139 open offers.

Why does it matter? They’ll leave. Losing Deuce was the straw that broke this camel’s back. Men’s basketball is in a free fall and much like the tree that fell alone in the woods......

A Blair Academy teammate of Bison commit Brady Muller just committed to Duke. That teammate, Jaylen Blakes, had 21 D1 offers - which is 20 more than Muller has amassed. Blakes however is a 2021 grad.

. . . .
In the 14 weeks since that offer, he has not picked up any others.
From twitter today:
"2022 6’8 guard Andrew Ball will be taking unofficial visits to Lehigh, Bucknell, and Lafayette over the next two weeks. Ball has already visited Princeton, Cornell and Boston, per source."

Yes, although we have to remember that he committed in March. No HS season and no AAU competitions to evaluate him. Had he waited to commit and played AAU ball plus camps, he might have picked up offers. Have to hope the staff did a good job in evaluating him without a lot to go on. Only time will tell.

New Trier is one of the midwest's top academic schools, and it produces a lot of Ivy/Patriot athletes. Bucknell has had many New Trier student-athletes over the years, including a few women's soccer players and a few baseball players.

Agreed. They’ve been better than us recently. The SoCon is a good conference too. Furman doesn’t rank with Bucknell in terms of academics but I don’t think they’re far behind.
It’s hard to know what motivates people though unless it’s first person.

Furman over the last five years has ranked 106th, 95th, 59th, 81st, and 96th nationally (Pomeroy). Better than Bucknell each of the last four. The only negative is that they have faltered in the SoCon tournament every year. But it's a nice campus in a nice area.

It is now September. The Bison have one commitment - a gamble on a relative unknown in March. And there are only seven outstanding offers. Hopefully the staff is reasonably certain about landing at least one of these guys. Otherwise it seemingly is time for more offers - with two more spots to fill. Time to get nervous yet?
