It’s the “no other offers” line that is troubling.

Yes, although we have to remember that he committed in March. No HS season and no AAU competitions to evaluate him. Had he waited to commit and played AAU ball plus camps, he might have picked up offers. Have to hope the staff did a good job in evaluating him without a lot to go on. Only time will tell.

Offer to Luke Hunger, a 6-10 260 center from Montreal. Plays his HS ball at Northfield Mount Hermon. Ranked #31 in New England, although that will likely fall as all the prep schools add transfers for their senior years or for a post-grad year.

Hunger has offers from Miami, Richmond, Iona, Wofford, East Carolina, Rice, W&M, Towson, Northeastern, Loyola (IL), Boston U, UMass, San Fran, UCSB, Brown.

New offer to Brady Cummins, a 6-6 wing from Maine. Plays for the Brooks School in Massachusetts. Currently ranked #11 of Massachusetts players, although that ranking will likely drop in the fall. He will be entering his 5th year in HS.

Has offers from UMass, Radford, South Alabama, and UNH.

Offer to Jackson Munro, a 6-8 PF from New Trier HS (IL). Has offers from Northeastern, Toledo, Indiana State, Lipscomb, Ft. Wayne, Loyola (MD), and Navy.

New Trier is one of the midwest's top academic schools, and it produces a lot of Ivy/Patriot athletes. Bucknell has had many New Trier student-athletes over the years, including a few women's soccer players and a few baseball players.

Mark Allsteadt, '87 starting forward of Charlie Woollum's first Breakin' Bison squad to win the ECC Championship and first team to play in the NCAA March Madness, was also a graduate of New Trier HS

- Andrew Ball, a 6-8 wing from Shawnee HS (NJ), a suburb of Philly. Offers from Army and Albany.
- Matt Filipowski 6-10 center from MA. Has spring offers from Iona, Albany, and Brown, plus older offers (9+ months ago) from Illinois, Pitt, Cal Poly, Siena, Marist, Stony Brook.
- Drew Kania, 6-8 205 lb Forward from NJ (Gill St. Bernard’s). Has offers from Hofstra, Fairfield, FDU. Committed to Brown July 2021
- Sean Logan, 6-10 PF/C from Westfield (NJ). Offers from Holy Cross, Lafayette, and FDU.
- Nick Martinelli, a 6-7 SF from a suburb of Chicago. Offers from Milwaukee, Toledo, Belmont, Rice, Navy, Lehigh, Boston U, Valpo, IUPUI, and St. Thomas. Committed to Elon on 7/1.
- Brady Muller, a 6-4 SG from NJ (Blair Academy). COMMITTED TO BUCKNELL MARCH 2021. No other offers.
- Noah Ross, 6-5 SG from NC. Has offers from Tulsa, Charleston, UNCG, Winthrop, Jacksonville, Mercer, Wofford, W. Carolina, ETSU, UNCW, Ohio, Charlotte, Rice, Elon, FIU, Hofstra, EKU.
- Kyle Squires, 6-7 180 lb SF who plays for prep powerhouse Northfield Mount Hermon. Has offers from UMass, LC, Columbia, and Bryant.
- Michael Walz, a 6-10 center from PA (Conestoga HS). Has offers from PSU, Richmond, St Joes, LaSalle, W&M, Drexel, Lehigh, and Stony Brook.

That's 10 offers. Seven still outstanding. For comparison, there were 22 outstanding offers for the Class of 2020 at the same point in time two years ago.

Over the past week, Ball committed to Monmouth, and Squires committed to Lafayette. Both Ball and Squires had made unofficial visits to Bucknell, but chose to go elsewhere.

Counting the recent offers shown in the posts
above, there are now 11 outstanding offers, a few which seem unlikely to be successful.

VanderWal is reportedly making an official visit next weekend. Move-in weekend for most upperclassmen. Would be a very nice addition.

Also has official visits scheduled as follows:

Furman Aug 27-29
William & Mary Sept 10-12
Yale Sept 17-19

Bummer. Furman has a beautiful campus. I only recently visited there and was impressed.

Not exactly a basketball powerhouse…but I would choose South Carolina weather. And it is a respected academic institution, so good for him.

Agreed. They’ve been better than us recently. The SoCon is a good conference too. Furman doesn’t rank with Bucknell in terms of academics but I don’t think they’re far behind.

It’s hard to know what motivates people though unless it’s first person.

Furman over the last five years has ranked 106th, 95th, 59th, 81st, and 96th nationally (Pomeroy). Better than Bucknell each of the last four. The only negative is that they have faltered in the SoCon tournament every year. But it's a nice campus in a nice area.

It is now September. The Bison have one commitment - a gamble on a relative unknown in March. And there are only seven outstanding offers. Hopefully the staff is reasonably certain about landing at least one of these guys. Otherwise it seemingly is time for more offers - with two more spots to fill. Time to get nervous yet?

My guess is the carryover from the mid-2000’s has ended.

Not surprisingly, Prosser beat out ND. Kell committed to Western Carolina.
