Navy is playing without Cam Davis. Loyola is giving them a tough time.

I could totally buy Loyola with Spencer back winning the whole thing.

Loyola takes down Navy. The Mids have now gone 20 years without reaching a PL final.

And down goes #1. Just like we've seen this year it's hard to win games in this league without your best player.

Colgate's in for a fight with BU, up 41-40. It's the Mathon-McCoy show for BU, and CU is struggling from deep (2-15 as I type this).

Colgate wins ugly, 77-69. Rust showed after a long layoff but they ground their way to a win against a BU team that played very well.
This easily could have been closer -- BU missed some open shots that could have made this more of a game late. They were excellent in the first half, slowing down the pace and making this a rock fight. Defense was exceptional.
CU was missing Woodward. Big loss. No reason given -- just mentioned as being "unavailable."
Burns, Richardson and Ferguson each had 16 points. CU went 5-20 from 3 and 24-39 from FT, BU was 5-21. McCoy was a huge problem all game, Mathon was great, Whyte started slow but kept BU in it late.
Unsung hero was Ryan Moffatt for Gate, 6 pts, 7 reb (4 off). Matched the physicality and competitiveness of BU. Ferguson was huge off the bench, really helped the reserves.
I will say that CU got the benefit of the whistle in this one. Ugly, foul-ridden game, and CU got the benefit of more 50-50 calls. Jones was rightfully upset at a few whistles. Not saying BU would have won the game but I have to admit CU emerged on the better end of the refs today.

Richardson and Ferguson are such frustrating players to root against. Always seem to come up big when it matters.
I wasn't surprised that Burns got player of the year over Aldama given the boosts for being a senior and playing on a much better team, but has there ever been a Patriot League POY who shot under 40% before?

Greg Sprink Navy 2008 shot much worse.
But I dont think Burns shooting was that bad - 40% from 2 pt range while not great, is not awful for a guard. 38% from 3 point is above average. He also got to the free throw line a lot and hit 89% of those. Throw in high assist rate, low turnover rate, high steal rate and that he is the best player on the leagues best team and that Colgate had the leagues best defense. POY Seems reasonable to me. Plus Kenpom's metrics put him as the leagues best player followed by Aldama. Aldama definitely has some imposing statistics but I think it is reasonable to put team quality into the equation.

So is it %100 certain that Meeks and Paul Newman will not be given the opportunity to pay another season at Bucknell?

I haven't heard anything officially. But the administration has been adamant about not allowing 5th year players under most circumstances. I very much doubt you will see either next year.

Yes, Sprink a bit worse. He hit 42% on twos and 30% on threes - .361 overall. Also 86% from the line. (Sprink, btw, hit for much better pcts as a junior: 53% on twos and 38% on threes.)
Looking at broader shooting metrics:
Effective FG Pct: Burns .453, Sprink .434
True Shooting Pct, which incorporates the value of FT's: Burns .524, Sprink .516
In Sprink's defense, however, I don't think he had the talent around him that Burns has.

OK I exaggerated a little I guess, LOL. I never liked watching Sprink for some reason as you can probably tell. Sprink was helped that year by Navy's tempo which allowed his old fashioned statistics for points and rebounds to look pretty good compared to the slow-paced patriot league of 2008. Of course Colgate 2021 plays almost as fast.

That's interesting the Kenpom metric has Burns ahead of Aldama. I dropped my Kenpom subscription this year so have primarily been tracking Hollinger's PER where Aldama is pretty significantly ahead (although Burns is still 6th in the conference).
Again I started my comment saying I wasn't surprised with the Burns POY or that he didn't deserve it, but the numbers Santi put up were scary especially with how big of an impact he makes on defense as well. Other coaches and ADs are going to be starting draft rumors to try to get him out of the league.

That's interesting about the Holinger stat. I will have to look for it. I wonder if the difference is that Pomeroy puts a lot of emphasis on team quality and team defense?

Santi putting up Meeks-like numbers in the 1st half. Didn't miss from the field. Must have read this board and got motivated by the Burns POY talk.

Loyola tried at times to give it away in the 2nd half, but 2 Aldama baskets down the stretch pull it out. 33 pts, 12 rebounds on 13-15 FG (5-6 3 pt).
