After reading Walt’s post, I would make the same decision. He will have his diploma and would have to transfer for his extra year anyway, so why stay? Not to mention the team is in disarray, losing will continue, Davis will continue to be Davis...no reason for Walt to stay. Unfortunately I would not be surprised if Screen leaves as well.

Too bad it’s not Nathan Davis!!!
I agree - but I’m not sure any D1 program would take him.

So Nathan Davis killed the program. It died with him. It was a great run on top of the Patriot League but all good things finally end. This is the reality. The emotional response is this guy is terrible and WE ALL KNOW IT.
Remember how the townies would always come out and politely clap when winning and walk out calmly when losing? That’s Bucknell basketball culture and it makes me sad.

It's not all gloom and doom, is it? Bucknell still has a core team, its April and we can work on building up what we have. This transfer portal stuff is all over the country so many teams are experiencing this. Covid took a bite out of this year so let's just write it off and start fresh this summer. I'm glad I have the crispness of passes I have seen in the Flannery years and memorable plays of the Paulson years seared in my mind to get me through this year. Davis is an OK coach, give him one more year to stabilize things and then see where we stand.

Will the people who like to predict other departures from the team please do me a favor and enter the transfer portal too?

Unfortunately, though understandably, it's predominantly les autres that have done so.
It makes for tough reading around these parts. It's gotten so bad that even crossports is more uplifting.

If a coach goes on the coaching carousel and brings a player who enters the transfer portal to his new team, what is that called? The carousel hyperloop?

What a great American city for him to spend a year in. They’re getting a talented guy who I think is only now finding his true ability. His physical transformation and increased athleticism was remarkable.

Interesting landing spot for Meeks. Thought he might get a P6 shot on someone's bench. Presumably will make a bigger impact where he's headed.
I don't think it's been mentioned here but Jordan Burns announced he's declaring for the NBA draft and signing with an agent. Jack Ferguson who initially went into the portal withdrew and is coming back for another year at Colgate.
And it looks like we get to enjoy transfer craziness indefinitely now with the NCAA set to pass a rule allowing a player to transfer once in their "career" without having to sit out a year.

I suspect this will hurt smaller schools a lot because players who develop to higher skill levels will find it easier to transfer "up" with two years left of eligibility and immediate eligibility. This will hurt the players on the back end of the bench at high level schools. In effect, the smaller schools become farm teams for the big ones.

John Griffin’s brother Matt, coming off a successful run at Philly Roman Catholic, is on the new staff at Albany. Nice article in the Philadelphia Inquirer:
