It’s funny that if you scroll down you will see many of the same kind of messages that bison fans had to put up with in 2006 from Arkansas people. and I’ve seen dozens of worse ones on other threads. Their fan base must be the biggest group of a-holes in the nation.

I did not know that there is a "Raider Nation". It must be a micro-state given the number of people that attended pre-COVID games.

My favorite message board post from that game was one of them dismissing us as "one of those 'academic' schools" with absolutely no sense of irony. It still makes me chuckle.

What? Colleges are supposed to be ACADEMIC?

And as you may have seen, Seth Davis has received a tremendous amount of criticism from Arkansas fans for picking Colgate over the Razorbacks.
I understand some fans can get out of hand, but it was absurd. He even tweeted: "Twitter is working just fine in the state of Arkansas, per sources."

Before the second half of the Langel era, it was more like a Raider Neighborhood, if that neighborhood was just a single dead-end street off a main road and only had 20 houses tops.
Students will show up in droves if the team is good or if it's a big event. Problem is the team wasn't good for the better part of 20 years.
Therefore, you only had family members, staff members, friends and family of players and out-of-their-mind student diehards like myself and a couple others go to games.
The true attendance of any Colgate game was the listed box score number divided by 3 or 4. If the box said 400, it was really 125-150ish.
I also went to a game where there were 34 people in the stands, including myself, during a blizzard in 2007. Lehigh was in town. My 2 best friends and I slammed our winter boots in the stands to distract Jose Olivero from making his free throws. It worked well enough to get us into overtime (he shot 6-of-11) but we lost.
Hell of an experience watching Division I basketball within the atmosphere of a church or library like environment.

My maroon-colored glasses have me picking Colgate to go to the Sweet 16. If I wasn't an alum, I'd take Arkansas to win but Colgate + the points and the over.
They can beat Arkansas if they hit their shots -- they basically need to win a track meet. Colgate's D won't be good enough to stymie the Razorbacks, I'm afraid.
I am also not THAT scared of TT or Utah St, even if Gate would be a dog either way.
OSU in the Sweet 16 would be a big problem though. Just a bad matchup.

I think it’s going to be a long day for Colgate. I say this because they haven’t had the opportunity of a full, normal season and haven’t seen anything close to a team with the length and athleticism of the Razorbacks in the PL.
I hope I’m wrong and I’ll be pulling for you all today Steve!

When you have hopes that the opponent won't take you seriously, I'm sure neither Steve nor Coach Langel enjoy seeing Colgate as a widely-discussed upset pick.

Arkansas is a legit 22-6 offensive powerhouse playing a patriot league covid-infested 15 game team. Its not rocket science to know Arkansas will overpower and Colgate will underperform. Not this year, Patriot League team. A big eye opener for a good but overmatched Colgate team. I wish them the best, but I'm not seeing it.

And complete meltdown. Unfortunate. What a colossally stupid 3rd foul for Burns to pick up.

It's the rigors of a 15 game season taking it's toll!

Or Burns, Richardson and Cummings going a combined 11-36. Had to do that math twice as it seemed unbelievable on the first pass.
